Junior Cup
There were no surprises in the first round of the Junior Cup with the results following the league form. However it wasn’t until the second half when Carterton Pumas eased past Witney Wanderers, eventually winning 7-2. Kai Merritt scored a hat trick with Dan Chillington (2), Darren Davenport and Dave Yates getting the others. Martin Jones and Cesar Adenir replied for Wanderers.

Aston saw off Charlbury Town 4-0 with goals from Justin Holifield, Kevin Jones, Dan Long and Ryan Hewer.

Dom Hemmings scored twice in Kingham AB’s 3-0 win over Hailey Reserves. Dan Davies grabbed the other.

Middle Barton edged past Bampton Town 2-1. Paul Kay and Jamie Carswell scored the goals for the hosts with Jamie Austin replying for Bampton.

Lloyd Little (2) and Ady Williams both found the back of the net as Freeland A knocked out FC Mills.

Bartek Lachwicz scored the equaliser for Brize Norton after John Ayres had given Eynsham SSC the lead from the spot in their 1-1 draw. However, Ryan Weston scored the winner in extra time.

It took penalties to separate North Leigh B and Ducklington Reserves as they drew 2-2 after 120 minutes. Luke Hathaway and Michael Pratly scored for North Leigh with Dave Baker and Omar Semlali netting for Duck. However, the hosts held the nerve in the shoot-out winning 4-1.

Premier Division
West Witney maintain their slender 1 point lead at the top of the Premier Division courtesy of a 6-0 thrashing of Ducklington. The hosts had no reply as Kevin Lewis blasted in 5 goals for the league leaders. Carl Dodds got the other.

Hanborough stay second after Aston Leach scored a hat trick and Tom Lewis 1, in the hosts 4-0 win over Spartan Rangers.

James Harri, Mark Corbett and Warwick Thompkins all found the back of the net in Chipping Norton Town’s 3-1 win over Charlbury Town, for whom Duncan Fitzgerald scored.

A single Paul Read goal was enough to secure all 3 points for Hailey in their 1-0 win over Carterton A.

North Leigh A secured what may prove to be a vital point in their battle to avoid relegation after they drew 1-1 with Witney Royals. Jack Solomon gave the visitors a shock lead before Steve Brasier levelled the tie for Royals. It could have been different had Royals keeper, Steve Green not saved a penalty whilst still dazed from an earlier challenge.

Division One
Stanton Harcourt moved back into pole position at the top of Division One after a narrow 2-1 win over Hanborough Reserves. Tom Kernham scored for the visitors but goals from Martin Cripps and Jake Willis secured all three points for Stanton.

Minster Lovell slipped to second place after they were held to a 2-2 draw by third placed Chadlington. Both sides, vying for top spot could only manage a draw with Nathan Harris and Scott Thompson scoring for Minster as Martin Plumbridge and Steven Hunt replied for Chad.

Division Two
Rob James and David Jeynes each bagged themselves a hat trick in Milton’s 7-0 thrashing of Combe. Dan Search scored the other.

West Witney Reserves fell to only their second defeat of the season, as they went down 3-2 to the visiting Witney Royals Reserves. Mikey Piper and Russell Plumb had given the visitors the lead before goals from Matt Townsend and Steven Henderson had brought West Witney back into it. However a mistake from Chris Beechey gifted Dan Paintin the winner for Royals.

Division Three
Division Three threw up no surprises as all teams chasing promotion picked up 3 points. Kirtlington secured the win with a 3-0 defeat of Minster Lovell Reserves. Despite some excellent saves, including one from a panaltyfrom Minster Keeper, Cody Davies; Ryan Moran-Ross, Anthony Baker and Andy Gillespie all got their names on the score sheet.

Carterton B had to come from behind to beat hosts Spartan Rangers Reserves 3-2. Dave Cross and Paul Saunders gave Spartan the lead but a brace from Mark Hawkins and a goal from Chris Jones secured the points for Carterton.

Carterton Rangers went down 3-2 to Tackley in the day’s shock result. Stephen Reed and Andrew Stone scored for the hosts but goals from Matt Currill, Oscar Triggs and Robbie Moss ensured Tackley took all three points.

Aston Reserves went down 6-1 to Chipping Norton Town Reserves. Rob Coombes scored a hat trick with Mark Clifton (2) and Matt Smith adding before Brendan Chalk pulled one back for Aston.

Scott Peaper (2), Dave Anstee, Dan King and James Cummings were all on target as Brize Norton beat Wootton 5-2. Jason Ludlow got both from the spot for Wootton.

Division Four
Josh Hartley and Scott Mason both bagged a brace as Ducklington A beat Spartan Rangers A 4-0 keeping the visitors 2 points clear at the top of the division.

Bampton United beat Witney Royals A 4-0 with goals from Sid Ashley (2), Nathan Beckett and Conor O’Shea.

Corinthians keep the pressure on the top two after beating Greystones 4-1. Ben Truman, Graham Ciudiskis and Darren Mobey were amongst the goals as Clayton Foster pulled one back for the visitors.

Dave Cooper scored all 5 goals for FC Hollybush Reserves as they beat Kingham AB Reserves 5-2. Kingham scored twice in the second half with goals from Richard French and Ben Harris but it was not enough.

A single goal from Paul Townsend was enough to hand all three points to Wychwood Forresters after their 1-0 defeat of Milton Reserves.

The bottom two sides, Chadlington Reserves and Eynsham SSC Reserves faced each other and had to settle for a 2-2 draw. Steve Jones and Rory Shadbolt scored for Chad with Kevin Webb and Dan Harwood finding the net for Eynsham.

The Gloucestershire Cup
Bourton Rovers from Division 4 represented the Witney & District League in the Gloucestershire Cup. They faced and beat their hosts from Stroud, “The Village” 4-1 with Rob Curtis, Matt Winter, James Lunny and Pele all getting their names on the score sheet.
