Match Reports - Week 21

Supplementary Cup
Kirtlington enjoyed the break in league fixtures but carried on their good form in the Supplementary Cup with an 11-0 thrashing of Witney Royals A. Steve Foreman lead the scoring with a fantastic, 5-goal haul. The rest were shared amongst Tom Wilson, Shane Probitts, Rob Nicholson, Nathan Kelly, Callum Emmett and Ashley Price.

Milton Reserves came from 3-0 down to eventually see off Greystones 7-3. Arrun Baker grabbed a hat trick with Stephen Hocknell, John Barnes and Joe Bartlett also amongst the goals. Rocky Burton (2) and Rhys Thomas hit back in vain for Greystones.

Division Four’s Corinthians overcame Freeland B of Division Three 3-2 in their tie. Frank Webb (2) and another strike from Graham Ciudiskis saw them through as Sam Walker and Tom Mason’s goals were the only two converted amongst of a flurry of chances towards the end of the match but it was not quite enough.

A single goal from Paul Townsend narrowly edged Wychwood Foresters through in their game against Aston Reserves.

Keiron Watt’s bagged a four-goal-haul in Chipping Norton Reserves 5-2 win over Wootton. Robert Coombes added to the score line before John Holder and Arrun Bowerman hit back for Wootton.

Richard French and Ben Harris each bagged a brace as Kingham AB Reserves beat Chadlington Reserves 5-1. Liam Barnes completed the rout for the hosts with George Craddock getting Chad’s late consolation.

It took extra time to separate local rivals, Carterton Rangers and Carterton B in their match that ended 2-2 after 90 minutes. Hosts Rangers however found the extra gears needed as they scored 4 goals in extra time. Dan Hall Completed his hat trick as Stefan Read (2) and Andrew Strong got the others. Ollie Bush hit both for Carterton B.

Premier Division
West Witney remain top after a narrow 1-0 win over hosts, Spartan Rangers. Ady Holders goal keep Witney, a point clear at the top of the Premier Division.

Hanborough leapfrogged their opponents, Chipping Norton Town into second place after a comfortable 4-2 win over Chipping Norton Town. Tom Lewis (2), Craig Johnson and Sean Godfrey scored the telling goals with Andy McCabe grabbing both for Chippy who slipped to third.

Carterton A closed the gap on Chipping Norton to just 2 points after they thrashed Ducklington 5-0. Mike Bolt scored twice with Jason Trinder, Jason Lonsdale and Carl Williams getting the goals.

Sean Gilbert scored the only goal of the game as Charlbury Town beat Witney Royals 1-0 and moved out of the drop zone in the process.

The points were shared at North Leigh A as the hosts drew with reigning Champions Hailey 3-3. After a goalless first half, the game exploded into life with Josh Solomon (2) and Jason Blackman scoring for the hosts as Ian Steele (2) and Dean Mays replied for Hailey with the equaliser coming in the last few seconds of the game. Hailey’s hopes of retaining their Premier title now seem to be slipping from their grasp.

Division One
Minster Lovell moved to the top of Division One in style after handing out an 11-0 (eleven) walloping to Hanborough Reserves. Ed Dunn lead the scoring with four goals, as Nathan Harris, who grabbed a hat trick, Gary McKinnon (2), Scott Thompson and Nathan Bowles all added.

Chadlington are up to second after a closely fought 2-1 win over Freeland A. Georg Wagerfield scored for the hosts in the second half, but a Martin Plumbrige strike and an own goal contributed to the hosts downfall.

In-form Hailey Reserves knocked Stanton Harcourt off their perch with a 2-1 win. Mo Semlali was again on the score sheet with Darryl Kew as the hosts held on for the win, despite a first half own goal.

FC Nomads went down 3-0 to visitors Brize Norton with Bartek Lachwicz, Gerard Morgan and Jon Curtis all finding the back of the net.

Division Two
Kai Merrett hit Combe for six with an individual 6-goal-haul in Carterton Pumas 13-1 (Thirteen) thrashing of Combe. Steve Harries (2), Matt Mills (2), Kyle Drummond, Keiron Lace and Dan Chillington all got on the score sheet to contribute to the rout. John Umney’s goal was scant consolation for hosts Combe. The result, moved Pumas into second place, 3 points behind the leaders, Eynsham SSC.

West Witney slipped to third after being held to a 1-1 draw by Ducklington Reserves. The hosts took the lead through Stu Cutts, but a second half strike from Mark Haydon rescued a point for the hosts.

Charlbury Town Reserves are still without a win after going down 5-2 to Witney Wanderers. Tom Gregory (2), Sam King, Roger Pereira and Thiago DaSilva were all on target in the win. Paul Simmonds and Mark Goode replied for Charlbury.

Bampton Town chalked up another valuable point in their fight against relegation after a respectable 1-1 draw with Witney Royals Reserves. Jamie Austin’s goal for Bampton brought parity to the score line after Mikey Piper had given Royals the lead.

Division Three
The points were shared in Division Three’s only game of the weekend as Brize Norton Reserves drew 2-2 with Spartan Rangers Reserves. Scott Peaper and Rob Brown levelled the tie after Spartan took the lead with goals from Ashley Barnes and Dave Cross.

Division Four
Division Four had only the one match on the cards as promotion candidates Bourton Rovers took on Eynsham SSC Reserves. Julio Oliveira, Jake Oakey, Matt Winter and Gary Hitchman scored the goals that gave the hosts a 4-2 win. Kevin Webb scored twice late in the match for Eynsham.
