Match Reports - Week 18

Premier Division

A single goal from Dean Mays earned leaders Hailey a 1-0 win over FC Chequers in a scrappy match. The goal came in the first half, and was enough to keep Hailey 3 points clear at the top.

Hanborough stay within striking distance of the leaders after a 1-0 win over bottom side Charlbury Town. Lewis White score the game’s only goal in the second half.

Matt Thompson, Dan Price and an own goal contributed towards Witney Royals 3-2 win over Carterton A. Mike Duerden put the visitors ahead with a brace but it was not enough as Royals came back for the win.

Ducklington picked up 3 points in their game against Kingham with a comfortable 4-0 win. Craig Mays, Gary Brooks, Ben Hutter and Darren Harris all scored.

The points were shared at the Leys where Spartan Rangers held title contenders, North Leigh to a 202 draw. John O’Reeve and Martin Cripps scored for the hosts.

Division One
Andy Jackson scored direct from a corner in Stanton Harcourt’s game against AC Finstock. George Woodcock grabbed another two for the visitors to earn the win despite goals from Gary McKinnon and Ryan Bowers putting Finstock ahead.

Ducklington Reserves continue to enjoy their purple patch, picking up back to back wins. This time a 3-1 win over FC Nomads secured the points with Harvey Butler (2) and Ian Luckett getting the goals. Jack Costar replied for Nomads.

Rob Hook (2) Gerard Morgan (2), Pat Crowley and Adrian Goodwin all scored for Brize Norton in their 6-3 win over Witney Royals Reserves. Lee Beer picked up a brace in Royals defeat.

Hanborough Reserves were held to a 2-2 draw by FC Mills. Stu Griffin and Scott Akers found the back of the net for the hosts with Lee Senior and Keith Lonsdale replying for Mills.

Division Two
Charlbury Town Reserves produced the surprise of the day with a 3-2 win over Division leaders, FC Chequers Reserves. Tom Gonzales put the hosts ahead, with Karim Diallo adding around goals from Sam Cleaver and Ben Godfrey. Gary Jones then capitalised on a defensive mistake to steal the points.

Ollie Puddle (2) and Chris King scored for Brize Norton Reserves in their 4-3 defeat to Hailey Reserves. The hosts mounted a second half comeback, but could not find the equaliser. Goals from David Weetman, Dan Crossman, Stu Morrison and John Andrews either side of the break, sealed the win.

Middle Barton and Witney Wanderers drew 4-4. Ashley Scearce scored 2 with George Wood and Jack Eaglestone adding. Rogerioe Pereira and James Bason each bagged a brace for Wanderers.

Division Three
FC Hollybush closed the gap on the top three courtesy of a 3-1 win over AFC Marlborough. Darren Aston (2) and Stu Aldous scored the goals for the hosts with Steve Foreman replying for the visitors.

Eynsham SSC moved to within three points of leaders North Leigh after a convincing 6-1 win over Spartan Rangers Reserves. Matty Walker stole the show with a superb 5-timer while John Ayres added the other. Matt Townsend replied in vain for Spartan.

Minster Lovell Reserves and Chipping Norton Reserves had to settle for a point a piece after drawing 2-2. Arron Mullis and John Forteath levelled for Minster after Keiron Watts and Dom Hemmings had given Chippy the lead.

Division Four
Carterton B maintained their 6 point lead at the top of Division Four after a 7-0 thrashing of Eynsham SSC Reserves. Lee Manley (2), Ollie Bush (2), Matt Herbert, Chris Jones and Scott Walters all contributed to the score line.

Corinthians also too all 3 points and moved into second place with an impressive 3-1 win over Freeland B. Frank Webb (2) and Mark Cornish scored the telling goals as Callum Parker hit back for Freeland.

Carterton Rangers moved into third after beating Combe Reserves 4-1. Dan Smith (2), Stephan Reed and Ben Pearce scored the goals with Sam Benwell hitting back for Combe.

FC Mills were undone by the odd goal in 7 as they went down 4-3 to Ducklington B. After a quiet first half ended 0-0 there was an avalanche of goals in the second 45 with Gary Jewell, Shane Roach and Keiron Durrant all netting for Mills. However, it was not enough as Scott Mason, Charlie Parry, Gary Forest and Ben Jackson scored for Duck.

A single Rocky Burton goal was enough to earn Greystones a 1-0 win over Wychwood Forresters.
