John Fathers Junior Shield – Third Round
There were a mixed bag of results for Witney & District sides in the Junior Shield this weekend. The biggest win was delivered by Minster Lovell who put seven past Thame United Churches in a 7-0 win. Ed Dunn scored a hat trick as Craig Sallis (2), Martin Bull and Jordan Denley netted the others.

Steve Harris bagged a brace as Wychwood Forest beat Westminster 3-1. Phil Gair scored the other in the Division Three sides win.

Paul Dray, Jack Robinson and Elliot Bryant were all on target as FC Hollybush saw off Banbury based side, Diverse, 3-0.

Carterton Rangers are also through after beating fellow W&D side Chadlington 3-0. Goals from Kevin Brooks, Jonny Dover and a Jamie McDonough spot kick was enough for the win.

Carterton Town A also saw off a W&D side by narrowly beating Hailey 3-2. Jack Wood and Luke Manning scored for the hosts but goals from Dan Chillington, Rob Moore and Jason Lonsdale from the spot settled the tie.

Current Premier leaders West Witney eased through after a 5-2 win over Hanborough. Rob Keylock and Aston Leach netted for the hosts but Mike Duerden was on target with a brace followed by goals from Seb White (2) and Ian Sparkes.

Spartan Rangers had an easier time of it against Ducklington, winning 4-0. A Dave Cross double complemented strikes from Josh Grant and Harry Thomson.

The rest of the W&D sides in action were less fortunate; Aston were unlucky to lose to Boditcote after drawing 4-4 after extra time. Ross Flemming struck twice with James Flemming and Matt Smith also adding, however they couldn’t find the winner and were eventually knocked after an epic 10-9 penalty shoot-out defeat.

Charlbury Town went down 3-0 to Heyford Athletic while Ashton Villa took care of Witney Royals with a 5-1 win. Combe were level with Banbury Sports, 1-1 at full time courtesy of Oliver Morgan-Bellemy’s goal, however eventually went down 3-1 in extra time.

Jack Busby Cup – Second Round
Spartan Rangers Reserves will be in the hat for the Third Round draw after seeing off Stonesfield Reserves 4-1. Joel Spalding scored twice with Jamie Saverton and Omar Semlali getting the others.

Premier Division
Bourton Rovers moved to within a point of top spot after beating Chipping Norton Town 2-1. Warwick Thompkins scored for the hosts, but a Connor Teague brace secured the points for Bourton.

Division One
Kirtlington moved top of Division One, but lost the initiative in the title battle as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Stonesfield. Mike Phipps scored twice for visiting Stonesfield but goals from Ryan Moran-Ross and Jake East rescued a point for the hosts.

Division Two
Goals from Olly Bush and Dan Sollis helped Carterton Town B move eight points clear at the top of Division Two, after their 2-0 win over Moreton Rangers.

Bampton United lost ground on the leaders after going down 1-0 to FC Nomads. A single Steve Bircher strike was enough to secure the win for visiting Nomads,

Milton’s 2-1 win over visitors, Hanborough Reserves moved them up to 6th place, leapfrogging their opponents in the process. Rob James and Steven Pearce scored the Important goals with Dan Burgess pulling one back for Boro’.1'

Division Three
Leaders Eynsham A were made to fight for the points in their match against hosts Witney Royals Reserves, which they did in a 5-3 victory. Martin Edwards, Mikey Piper and Colin Morris all found the back of the net for Royals, but a brace from Jordan Lyne and further goals from Zac Sheffield, Drew Simpson and a William Line lob late in the game settled the tie.

Lewis Bartlett bagged a brace in Tower Hills 4-0 win over Corinthians. Adam Bolley and Joe Brown scored the other goals.

The points were shared at Bourton Rovers Reserves where the hosts drew 1-1 with Bampton Reserves. Jordan Harding and Rich Ghagan scored for Bourton and Bampton respectively.

Hosts Enstone went down 3-1 to Wootton. Elliot Samworth-Higgins netted for the home side but goals from Jon Holder (2) and Fraser Scott settled the tie in Wootton’s favour.

Division Four
A strong Brize Norton Reserves side narrowly beat Aston Reserves 2-1. Richard Duffy and Paul Morrison each got on the score sheet for the hosts with Ady Kew replying for Aston.

Kingham All Blacks Reserves went down 3-1 to Chadlington Reserves. Matt Deakin scored for Kingham but goals from Miguel Alturas, Jordan Godfrey and Jacob Hazelwood secured the points for the visitors.

Paul Townsend, Stephen Hocknell, Jim Rawlins and Jim Reynolds each found the back of the net for Milton Reserves in their 4-1 win over Wootton Reserves. Karl Gustha scored the consolation for the hosts.
