Match Reports - Week 13

Premier Division
Hailey retained their 3 point lead at the top of the Premier Division by beating Ducklington 3-0. Joey King, Dean Mays and Russ Winstone scored the telling goals.

Hanborough escape the chasing pack after a 4-1 win over Carterton A. Tom Weedon scored two with Dan Haggie and Paul Rose adding. Chris McNeal replied for the visitors.

Witney Royals closed the gap on North Leigh A with an impressive 5-0 win. Steve Brasier bagged a brace as Matt Thompson, Luke Chadwick and Jack Kennedy added.

At the bottom, Charlbury Town picked up their first win and first points of the season with a convincing 5-0 win over Kingham AB who remain rooted to the foot of the table. Glen McCallum, Andy Woodley, Rob Styles, Matt Holloway and Duncan Fitzgerald scored the goals.
The points were shared at Spartan Rangers where the hosts drew 2-2 with Combe. Jason King and goalkeeper, Ben Calcutt levelled the tie after brothers, Simon and Matt Baker had given Combe the lead.

Division One
Chipping Norton Town lead Division One by a point after a 4-2 win over close the chasing Brize Norton. Warwick Thompkins netted a hat trick with Gareth Price adding. Dan Frizzell scored both for Brize.

West Witney are hot on the heels of Chippy after a 3-1 win over FC Nomads. Steve Bircher scored for the visitors, but goals from Tony McLeman, Keith Frendo and John Fletcher settled the tie.

AC Finstock’s good form continued as they beat Ducklington Reserves 5-2. Sam Bowers scored a hat trick with brother, Ryan Bowers and Adam Claridge scoring the others. Dan Southgate and Mark Jewell replied in vain for Duck.

A single goal from Nathan Harris was enough for all three points as Minster Lovell beat Stanton Harcourt 1-0.

There were a few more goals however, in the 4-4 draw between hosts FC Mills and Witney Royals Reserves. Mills scorerers were Alex Dyakowski, Tim Senior, Martin Limmer and Nick Edwards. Ryan Colleton, Steve Reynols, Dan Hall and Mark Cowell scored for Royals.

Aston and Hanborough Reserves had to settled for a point and a goal each as they drew 1-1. Ben Sunblad and Rob Keylock scored for Aston and Boro respectively.

Division Two
Dave Cooper scored a hat trick in FC Chequers Reserves 7-0 thrashing of Milton. This hosts stretched their lead to 5 points as further goals from Kevin Davies (2) and Abdul Diallo and a sublime Anthony Barlow chip completed the rout.

Ducklington A moved into second after taking a point from their match against Wootton. The visitors took the lead through Lee Litton but Josh Gonzales levelled the tie in the second half.

Previous front runners Freeland A slipped up against an improving Hailey Reserves, going down 3-1. Dan Crossman (2), and Charlie Winstone scored for the hosts with Mark Buckingham netting for Freeland.

Middle Barton picked up another 3 points, coming from behind to beat Brize Norton Reserves 5-4. The hosts goals in this end to end match were scored by Matt Grimes, Jack Eaglestone, Rob Catling, Paul Kay and Nick Pickup. Chris King, Chris Cope, Craig Paterson and Ollie Puddle were on target for the visitors.

Charlbury Town Reserves and Bampton drew 3-3. Gary Jones, Mark Goode and Dean Siford found the back of the net for the hosts, with Gareth Edwards netting a hat trick for Bampton in this mid-table battle. Jake Kemsley scored the other for visitors.

Division Three
North Leigh A keep their lead at the top of Division Three after a convincing 4-1 win over West Witney. Tom Townsend, Tom Radburn, Pawel Bronk and Justin Timms scored the winning goals with Jamie Goodwin hitting the net for West Witney.

Eynsham Sports & Social Club are still within striking distance of the leaders after another, but close win. This time they picked up 3 points in a 3-2 win over AFC Marlborough. Alex Metcalfe and Steve Foreman scored for the hosts but it was not enough as goal from Lewis Clarke, John Ayres and Matt Walker settled the tie for the visitors.

Witney Royals A are languishing at the foot of the table after going down 5-0 to Spartan Rangers Reserves. Matt Townsend and Jason Troughton each scored twice with Ben Allen getting the other.

FC Hollybush comfortably brushed aside Aston Reserves in a 6-0 victory. Ed Brookes and Paul Dray each scored twice with Dean Spivey and Adam Perugino getting the others.

Carterton Pumas beat Chipping Norton Town Reserves 3-0 with Keiron Lace, Simon Turner and Karl Naughton getting on the score sheet.

Division Four
A top of the table clash saw leaders Carterton B visit second placed Freeland B. They sides took a point each from the match with Henry Smith and Ricky Isle scoring for Freeland and Carterton respectively.

Free-scoring Corinthians bagged another 5-goal haul in their 5-2 win over FC Mills Reserves. Frank Webb (2), Graham Cuidiskis, Darren Mobey and Ian Carey scored for the hosts with Keiron Durrant and Gavin Jewell netting for Mills.

Eynsham SSC Reserves picked up their first win and first points of the season with a 2-1 win over Burford. Anthony Shorter and Sean Rowbotham scored for the hosts in their well-deserved win.

Carterton Rangers put 5 past Graystones in their 5-1 win. Dan Smith picked up a hat trick in the match with Stefan Read and Tom Clapton getting the others. Chris Barnard replied for the visitors.

Ducklington went one better, putting 6 past Spartan Rangers A in their 6-1 mauling of the visitors. Ben Jackson scored a hat trick as Andy Cornforth, Scott Mason and Gary Forest grabbed the others.

Wychwood Foresters also scored 6 in their 6-3 win over Combe Reserves. Steve Thompkins (2) and Sam Benwell scored for Combe but goals from Dan Harwood (2), Kevin Webb, Craig Andrews, Dale Cox and veteran Simon Gibbs ensured all three points went to Wychwood.
