Reports for Saturday 17th November.

The quarter finals of the Jack Busby Cup took place this weekend, with the semi-finalists eventually being decided from four tight and high-scoring encounters.

Division Two leaders West Witney Reserves fought back from 2-1 down to defeat Division One Hanborough Reserves 3-2. West went ahead through Matt Townsend but were soon pegged back by two Tom Weedon goals, one a penalty. After the break though, a Karl Roberts penalty and an Antony Lune free kick sent the home side through.

Charlbury Town Reserves won 4-3 at home to North Leigh B with a rare hat-trick from Carl Siford and a Bruce Claridge goal. Charlbury had been 3-0 ahead at the break but North Leigh drew level through two Justin Keyani goals and a Richard Meredith strike. The hosts scored the fourth late on to progress.

Chipping Norton Town reserves went down 3-2 at home to Witney Royals Reserves. Mikey Piper, Anthony Williams and Ian Hayes had put Royals on control, but two Sam Philpott strikes weren’t quite enough for Chippy to stay in the cup.
