Match Reports – Week 12 (Saturday 24th November)

On a weekend hit by bad weather, only eight games survived in the Witney & District, but all provided goals.

Premier Division

Carterton A lost heavily at home to Witney Royals, who ran out 5-1 winners after leading 3-0 at the break. Jamie Kennedy bagged a double, with Lee Beer, Steve Brazier and Chris Thompson also netting for the visitors. Jason Lonsdale replied for the home side.

Division One

Kingham All Blacks ran out 5-1 winners at home to Hanborough Reserves. Dan Davis and Gareth Price bagged doubles for Kingham with Matt Smith also scoring. Tom Weedon responded for the home side.

Stanton Harcourt were undone 2-1 at home by third-placed Minster Lovell. A Dan Smith own goal had put Stanton ahead at the break, but second half goals from Ed Dunn and Nathan Harris gave Minster the points in front of a boisterous crowd.

Division Two

Charlbury Town Reserves hosted Combe in a mud-bath, with the visitors finishing 3-1 winners. Max Dunmore, Josh Posey and Steve Titmus scored for Combe, with Mark Goode grabbing a second half consolation for Charlbury.

Division Three

Carterton B saw off Brize Norton Reserves 2-1 in a tight game at home. Lee Litton and an Ollie Bush penalty put Carterton ahead, with Kieron Clarke replying for Brize before a goalless second half.

An incredible 13-goal thriller saw Freeland B defeat Spartan Rangers Reserves 9-4 at home. Jack Mills, Ben Allen, Andy Thompson and Ben Hardcastle scored for Spartan, but Freeland completed their rout through hat-tricks from Matt Hardy and Tom Forkner, plus goals from Dan Godden, Neil Rudge and Ben Jones.

Division Four

Chadlington Reserves lost 4-1 at home to FC Hollybush Reserves. Dave Cooper scored two with Dale Cox and Darren Aston also adding goals, while Dennis Souch responded for Chadlington.

Corinthians were involved in a tight 3-3 draw with Ducklington A. Frank Webb grabbed a brace for the home side, with Darren Mobey grabbing the other, but Duck hit back through Ben Jackson, Josh Hartley and Steve Mason to ensure the points were shared.
