Match Reports - Week 7

Premier Division

Carterton Town A closed the gap on West Witney at the top of the Premier Division to just 3 points after a 4-1 win over Ducklington. Jason Lonsdale, Kevin Rookes, Jack Morton and Tommy Burns provided the goals for the hosts with Dave Rabbich replying for Duck.

Chipping Norton Town beat Witney Royals 2-1 as Andy McCabe and Dan Bott scored the winning goals. Steve Brasier replied in vain for Royals.
Will Potter, Joey Burgess and Aston Leach were all on target in Hanborough’s 3-1 win over Hailey. Jack Wood pulled one back for Hailey in their first defeat of the season.

Minster Lovell went down 6-2 to Charlbury Town. Josh White and Russ Whitlock were on target for the host but goals from Paul Allen, Sean Gilbert, Craig McCallum, Mark Goode and Mike Thompson put the result beyond doubt.

Ethan Penney scored a hat trick for Combe but had to settle for a point as goals from Connor Teague, Adam Webley and Josh Catling earned Bourton Rangers a 3-3 draw with their hosts.

Division One
Kirtlington moved 5 points clear at the top of Division One after a 5-1 thrashing of Brize Norton. Jake East scored a hat trick with Ryan Moran-Ross and Chris Rae adding. Hayden Parker scored the consolation for Brize.

Adam Izzard, Karim Diallo and Adam Lee were all on target for Carterton Rangers as they beat hosts, North Leigh A 3-2. Joey Aust and Tom Harvey scored for the hosts but they were unable to find the equaliser.

Callum Jefffries (2) and Lee Woodward were on target in Chadlington’s 3-1 win over FC Hollybush for whom, Braad Bryant scored.

Hailey Reserves were brushed aside in a 6-0 defeat to Stonesfield. Paul Penny (2), Kori Noonan, Lewis Stays and Mike Phipps all found the back of the net.

Spartan Rangers and Aston had to settle for a point each as they drew 2-2. Josh Grant and Henry Clarke scored Spartan’s goals with Dan Molony and Sam Rowe replying for Aston.

Division Two
There was no change at the top as the top 3 sides all won. Father and son; James and Michael Bason each scored in the same match for the second time this season. James and son Michael both notched for Witney Wanderers in their 2-0 win over Moreton Rangers.

Bampton United remain just a point behind after a 7-0 mauling of Ducklington Reserves. Nathan Beckett lead the way with a double hat-trick. Dan Paintin got the other.

Carterton Town B are level in second place after a narrow 5-4 win at FC Nomads. The hosts scored through Dave Pryse (2), Steve Bircher and Chris Lawrence but goals from Olly Bush (2), Dan Sollis (2) and Luke Simmonds settled the tie in favour of the visitors.

Two goals from Alex Ayes earned Milton a 2-0 win over Kingham All Blacks.
Division Three Eynsham A stay 4 points clear at the top of Division Three after a sound 9-0 thrashing of Enstone. Jordan Lyne, Oli Page and Drew Simpson eached bagged a brace with Tyler Walker, Zac Sheffield and Shaun Morton getting the others.

Corinthians went down 4-1 to Middle Barton who remain in second place. Jack Eley scored a hat trick with John Umney adding the fourth. Peter Barncoat scored the colsolation goal for Corinthians.

A last minute Steve Harries free-kick into the top corner of the net earned Wychwood Forest a 3-2 win over Tower Hill Stars. James Scott scored both goals for the hosts but a goal from Phil Gair along with Harries brace was just enough to earn the points for Wychwood.

Dan Godden’s goal for FC mills was mere consolation as his side went down 6-1 to Wootton. Jon Holder (2), James Cox (2), Rob Alexander and Graham Berry all netted for the visitors.

Division Four
Charlbury Town Reserves moved two points clear at the top of Division Four after beating previous leaders, Chadlington Reserves, 5-0. Daryl Potter opened the scoring and bagged a brace with Marco Papa, Gary Jones and veteran striker, Martin Grimsley all scoring.

FC Hollybush Reserves closed the gap at the top with a 5-1 win over Spartan Rangers A. Darren Smith hit two with Dave Cooper, Arron Hyatt and Mark Mumford all getting on the score sheet. Dan Briggs registered for Spartan.

Leon Richards scored a hat trick in Combe Reserves 7-2 win over Brize Norton Reserves. Angus Ibbitson (2), Lee Molyneux and Ryan Snell all also registered for Combe.

Dan Hootton, Jim Rawlins and Keyth Bonner all scored for Milton Reserves in their 3-0 win over Kingham All Black Reserves.

Jack Busby Memorial Trophy - 1st Round
Eynsham SSC Reserves of Division Four put their poor league form behind them as they brushed aside Witney Royals Reserves of Division Three. Lee Parsons and Darren Mobey each scored twice after a Lewis Townsend own goal had opened the scoring. Ryan Cummins scored Royals reply.

Bampton United Reserves are also through to the next round after a comfortable 4-0 win over Hanborough Reserves. Carl Pritchard (2) Richard Ghagan and Tom Madden all got on the score sheet.

Stonesfield Reserves knocked out Bourton Rovers Reserves with an emphatic 9-2 win. Chris Jordan scored a gour-timer with Lewis Colwell (2), Shaun Kemp, Pete Miller and Peter Searle all scoring. Bourton replied in vain with goals from Josh Joynes and Alex Lopian.

Wootton Reserves are also out after going down 3-0 to Spartan Rangers Reserves. Omar Semlali bagged a brace with Matt Howard getting the other.
