Witney and District Senior Cup

Charlbury Town were on the back of a surprise defeat this weekend, losing 4-2 to Kirtlington. Sean Gilbert and Matt Thompson scored for Charlbury but a Nathan Kelly brace and goals from Jordon Parker and Kaylum Patterson saw Kirtlington through to the next round of the cup.

Witney and District Supplementary Cup

Simon Gale’s double helped Combe Reserves through to the next round of the Supplementary Cup as they beat FC Hollybush Reserves 2-1. Eddie Brookes with the Hollybush goal.

Premier Division

Carterton Town A and Hanborough couldn’t be split as their game ended in a rare 0-0 draw.

Combe moved up to fourth with a comfortable 5-1 win away at Minster Lovell. John Fletcher scored the consolation for Minster. Matt Baker hit a hattrick for the visitors, Steve Smith and Angus Ibbitson were also on target for Combe.

Dan Bott scored the only goal in Chipping Norton’s 1-0 win over Spartan Rangers.

Division One

Carterton Rangers secured promotion to the Premier Division with a 4-1 win over struggling side, Milton. Jim Littlewood scored for the visitors. Adam Lee, Carl Shirley, Dan Hall and Joe Collett all found themselves on the scoresheet for Rangers.

FC Hollybush also gained promotion and were crowned champions of Division One after they beat fourth place Aston, 3-1. Ryan Collation scored for Aston but goals from Danny Brearley, Steve Holder and Luke Turner gave Hollybush all three points.

Rafa Rice’s double helped Stonesfield to their fourth win of the season over sixth place Chadlington, winning 5-1. Bruce Wilson, Mike Phipps and Lewis Colwell were also on target. Matt Chadwick scored Chad’s consolation.

Division Two

Tower Hill remained one point clear at the top of the table with a 3-1 win away at Brize Norton, thanks to goals from Lewis Bartlett and Jack Scott (2). Steve Marshall scored Brize’s goal.

FC Ascott’s Tom Cairns’ netted twice as FC Ascott eased past Hanborough Reserves, winning 4-1. Josh Korik and Kyle Drummond also scored for Ascott. Keith Frendo scored Hanborough’s goal.

Sam Philpott made it 20 for the season with a hattrick against Spartan Rangers Reserves as Kingham All Blacks took all three points in their 3-0 home win.

Tower Hill Stars kept their promotion chances alive with a 3-1 win over mid-table Middle Barton. John Umney scored for Barton but a brace for Craig Mays and a Will Graham solo effort saw Stars’ take all three points.

Division Three

Nick Angus’ double and a goal from Tim Senior helped Aston Reserves to a 3-2 win at home to Corinthians, despite a Harry Purfitt double for the visitors.

Witney Royals Reserves moved six points from the relegation drop after their 5-0 win against struggling side Bourton Rovers Reserves. Oliver Carpenter struck twice, Josh Taylor, Dan Townsend and Dale Howlett were also all on target.

Division Four

Dan Lay hit a late goal to give Kingham All Blacks Reserves all three points away at Chadlington Reserves, as they won 1-0.

FC Ascott Reserves moved up to ninth after they thrashed bottom of the table, Eynsham Reserves, 6-0. Chris Blayney, Will Coles, Brian George, Ben Harris and Marc Abbiss (2) were all on target.

Milton Reserves made it twelves win for the season as they beat Wootton Reserves 5-2. Dan Hooton and Louis Breaks each with a brace for the visitors, Scott Joy was also on target for Milton. Mark Mumford and Craig Barker scored for Wootton.
