End of Feb washout destroys fixture list

Premier Division

Only one game in the Premier Division, but Sam Wheeler ensured that the wheels are firmly ON the Hailey title challenge bus as they bounced back to winning ways to close the gap to RAF Brize Norton at the top of the league. Sam Wheeler scored twice to earn Hailey all three points, in a 4-2 win over Charlbury. Sam Lewis and Archie Hawley hit back for Charlbury but Jack Wood and Freddie Buckingham scored once each to get Hailey back to winning ways.

Fred Ford Third Round

Fred Ford victories on consecutive weekends has seen Stonesfield push themselves into the quarter finals of the Fred Ford Cup. After beating Leafield 9-0 last week, they saw off Hook Norton in an all Premier Division tie, with six different scorers finding the net. Robert Vincent and Jay Mair found the net for Hooky but Stonesfield charged on through with goals from Will Barker, Harrison Connolly, Jordan Newman and Sam Hart for a 4-2 win.

Division One

Ducklington tasted a league defeat for the first time since the 30th September as Aston stayed within touching distance with a 2-0 win at Ducklington. Charlie McCulloch’s brace did all the damage for Aston’s seventh win of the season to leave them five points outside the promotion places and with a game in hand.

Chadlington took advantage of Ducklington’s slip to move back into second with a narrow win over Spartan Rangers. Corey Kelly scored twice for Spartan but a first half strike from Ethan Bennett and second half goals from Jacob Hazelwood and Ewan Thomas pushed Chadlington to yet another win this season.

Division Two

Victories for the top two have put some daylight between them and the chasing pack in Division Two. Moreton Rangers Reserves claimed their fifteenth league win of the season with a 4-1 win over Kingham. Lee Brooks (2), Callum Peters and Tom Pashley all scored in the 4-1 win. Kingham replied through Jake Godfrey.

CHQ United remain second and two points behind after seeing off fourth place Yarnton A. Matt Anderson and Chris Mill’s goals moved CHQ seven points clear of third placed Wootton, but they have played five games more.

Division Three

Only two games survived in Division Three. Aston Reserves moved within one point of the promotion places with a 3-1 win over second place Carterton Town. Luke Smith scored for Carterton but a combination of Sam Bodinham, Jordan Blackstock and Alex Murrell secured a fourth win in a row for Aston.

Heyford Athletic Reserves moved up to fifth, after a 3-1 win over Stonesfield Reserves. Jack Scott’s sublime hat-trick gave Heyford a first win in three. Eden Rice scored for Stonesfield but couldn’t prevent the defeat.
