Dennis Souch (Chadlington)

By Ant Barlow

60 and still going!

Chadlington Reserve Captain and evergreen Witney & District player Dennis Souch turned 60 this week. He played on Saturday in Chadlington Reserves 5-2 win over Aston.

Dennis has played for Chadlington for nearly 50 years, first putting on the club shirt at the age of 11. As well as being Chadlington's oldest ever player he is their oldest ever goal scorer when he scored in Division Four in 2012 at the age of 58.

In his time with Chadlington it is estimated he has played in over 1500 games and he has lifted every major trophy in the WDFA and won the Oxfordshire Junior Shield three times and Oxfordshire Charity Cup once. As well as playing Dennis has also had spells managing teams.

Last season he played in every minute of every reserve team game played by Chadlington and was awarded Managers Player of the Year. This season he has done the same so far.

Club Official, Greg Kemp said

“He is a one-off club player and a credit to the club and the to the league. We wish to congratulate him on this fantastic achievement.”
