Jack Busby Memorial Trophy - 2nd Round

Aston Reserves bounced back from last weeks defeat with a narrow 2-1 victory over Milton Reserves. George Ford scored for Milton but Nick Angus and Ryan Lewis’ goals were enough to see Aston through. Aston will take on Minster Lovell Reserves in the quarter finals.

Division Three league leaders Charlbury Reserves had no problem against Division Two side Chipping Norton Reserves as they ran out 4-1 victors. Rocky Burton found the target for the home side but Tom Williams, Jordan Brooks and two goals for Damian Corbin made it 10 straight wins for Charlbury.

Brian George’s hattrick saw FC Ascott Reserves through to the next round with their first win in 4, beating Brize Norton Reserves 4-2. Carl Forteath bagged Ascotts’ fourth, Jason Hirshfield and Daniel Simon with the goals for Brize. Ascott will face Hanborough Reserves in the next round.

FC Hollybush Reserves were awarded a bye in their game against Combe Reserves as they couldn’t field a side.

Hailey Reserves scraped through to the quarters with a 2-1 win over unbeaten Stonesfield Reserves, Jacob Smith and Mo Semlali with the goals. Jame Gardner scored for Stonesfield. Hailey will travel to Charlbury Reserves in the next round.

Hanborough Reserves won their first game in three as they beat Kingham Reserves 4-1. Carl Williams bagged two, Herbie Hamilton and Jacob Oliver were also on the score sheet. James Quilty struck late for Kingham.

Minster Lovell Reserves found their way into the quarters with ease after they thrashed Ducklington Reserves 6-1. Ady Kew scored Ducklington’s consolation but goals from James Hector, Eddy Dunn, Scott Thompson, Leo Haines and two for Nick Rose saw Minster through.

Premier Division

Carterton Town A made it seven unbeaten as they beat Minster Lovell 5-1. Sam Wright scored for Minster, Chris McNeil, Olly Bush, Steve Freeman, Paddy Guillons and Rob Marsh all found themselves on the scoresheet for Carterton.

Charlbury Town remained at the top of the table as they beat Kirtlington at home, 2-0. Sean Gilbert and Warwick Tompkins with the goals.

Combe moved up to fourth as they took a point from their game with Hailey in a 3-3 draw. Simon Baker found the net twice for Combe along with Matt Baker. Zachary Oliver also grabbed a brace, Martin Latimer with Hailey’s third.

Hanborough remained unbeaten after their biggest win of the season against Chipping Norton, scoring 10 without reply. Jack Morton and Dan Haggie both bagged a hattrick, Joey Burgess scored two, Rob Keylock grabbed one and they were also helped by an own goal.

Witney Royals moved off the bottom of the table with a 4-1 win over Eynsham SSC. Brothers, Telmo and Fabio Fernandes both found the net for Royals, along with Stewart George’s brace. Andy Stratford score for Eynsham.

Division One

Lee Woodward’s brace earned Chadlington a point in their 3-3 draw with Bampton United. Ashley Scearce also scored for Chad. Jake Pritchard and Connor Kelly’s double rescued Bampton a point.

FC Hollybush remained top of the table thanks to a bye against Ducklington, who couldn’t field a side.

Carterton Rangers made easy work of FC Nomads in their 10-2 victory. Olly Ward and Chris Laurence scored for the hosts but Carterton hit back with goals from Liam Elliot, Carl Shirley, Adam Lee, James Dover and three each for Jonny Dover and Dan Hall.

Aston were also in fine finishing form as they put 9 past Milton without reply. Matt Smith bagged himself four goals, Ryan Colleton two, Adam Clarke, Vince Evans and Jamie Kennedy all with solo efforts.

Stonesfield made it two wins on the bounce for the first time this season with a narrow 3-2 win over Moreton Rangers. Joseph Boote found himself on the scoresheet twice for Rangers but Nick Clarke, Paul Penney and Jack Barker ensured Stonesfield all three points.

51 year old Tony Bott was the only goal scorer in Middle Bartons impressive 1-0 victory over FC Ascott, moving them up to 5th.

Will Smaldon, Kev Davies and Will Graham were all on target for Tower Hill Stars in their 3-0 win over Brize Norton.

Tower Hill moved up to top with a 2-0 win over Witney Wanders. Lewis Bartlett and Jamie Goodwin with the goals.

Division Three

Bletchington moved top thanks to a bye against Bampton United Reserves.

Wootton made it 5 wins in their last 5 with a 5-3 win over Corinthians, with goals from Karl Gustha, Lee Spencer and three for Michael Steers. Frank Webb scored his 13th and 14th goal of the season, Ryan Allen joined in the Corinthians scoring.

Division Four

Siege FC remained top of the table with a convincing 8-0 win over Chadlington Reserves. Tony McLeman scored a hattrick, Karl Dodds hit two, Lee Marsden, Tom Dawson-Clarke and Kev Lewis were also on the scoresheet.

Spartan Rangers A moved off of the bottom of the table with their first win of the season and first points, in a 1-0 win over Wootton Reserves. Kieren Watts with the goal.
