Match Reports - Week 2

Premier Division
Reigning Champions, West Witney’s surprise poor start to the season continued as they were humbled by Hanborough, 6-3. The hosts managed to net 3 times through Chris Hirons, Dean Mays and Sam Moscrop. However they were outgunned by the visitors with Aston Leach and Neil Rose, each bagging a brace. Arran Hobley and Joey Burgess netted the other two, completing the rout.

Chipping Norton Town stay top after a 1-0 win over Hailey. Keiran Watts scored the games only goal.

Charlbury Town narrowly defeated hosts Ducklington with a 2-1 win. Jack Eley and an own goal were telling as Kevin Davies replied for Duck.

Witney Royals went down 3-0 to Carterton A. Jason Trinder, Jason Lonsdale and Michael Duerden scored the goals.

Division One
After last weeks’ good result, FC Nomads were brought back down to earth with a thumping in a 6-0 defeat to Bourton Rovers. Craig Gilson and Liam White bagged a brace a piece with Chris Mills and Josh Catling getting the others.

Spartan Rangers also made it 2 wins from 2 as they saw off North Leigh 2-1. Justin Timms netted for the hosts but Goals from Donovan Henderson-Sowerby and Josh Grant settled the tie.

Hailey Reserves bounced back from last weeks’ defeat to earn all three points against Combe in a 4-3 thriller. Pete Searle (2) and Ethan Penny put the visitors in a good position but two goals from Mo Semlali strikes from Jack Wood and Joe Hatt ensure the hosts held on for the win.

Newly promoted FC Hollybush remain pointless after they went down 3-0 to Eynsham SSC. Matt Walker, Andy Straford and Ryan Stockford all found the back of the net.

Rob Tyak and Ash Thornton each found the back of the net in Kingham AB’s 2-0 win over Aston.

Division Two
Milton have made the perfect start to their season with an 11-0 thrashing of luckless Enstone. The visitors terrible start to the season was compounded by jat tricks from Max Twinn and Rob James with further strikes from Jim Littlewood (2) Pat King, Adam Rudd and Jake Forster

Carterton Town B continued their strong start with Dan Sollis, Dan Robinson, Tom Perry and Olly Bush all got on the score sheet in a 4-0 win over Hanborough Reserves.

Despite their positive start, FC Mills came unstuck against Ducklington Reserves going down 8-0. Massin Elouahabi and Dean Oliver, both picked up a hat trick, with Tom Faulkins getting the other.

Witney Wanderers were narrowly defeated by Kirtlington 2-1 with the winning goals coming from Nathan Kelly and Ryan Moran-Ross. Ryan Simpson scored the hosts only goal.

Bampton United lost 3-0 to Stonesfield, who return to the W&D after a 10 year absence.

Division Three
Newly promoted Corinthians top the table after a convincing 7-0 demolition of Bourton Rovers Reserves. Frank Webb smashed in four with Luke Hessey, Jason Baker and Dan Smith getting the others.

Chipping Norton Town Reserves took all three points after their narrow 4-3 win over Brize Norton Reserves. Rob Brown scored twice for the hosts but goals from Jarvis Morely, Matt Smith and Shaun Kemp ensured the visitors took all three points.

Jamie Goodwin (2), Joe Brown, Adam Bolley and Leigh Smith all scored in Tower Hill’s 5-3 win over Spartan Rangers Reserves. Matt Townsend, Lee Taylorson and Gareth Thomas hit back in vain for Spartan.

Hosts, Wootton came from behind to beat Witney Royals Reserves 2-1. Steve Reynolds gave the visitors the lead but Graham Berry levelled and then scored the winner with the very last kick of the match.

Division Four
Eynsham A are already emerging as clear favourites for the Division Four title as they notched up their second impressive win. This time a 7-1 mauling of Kingham Reserves. Declan Green banged in a four timer with Oliver Page, Tyler Walker and Same Kuane netting the others.

Bampton United Reserves beat Aston Reserves 3-0. Danny Paintin (2) and Rich Gurgan scored the telling goals.

A single strike from Ashley Overton was enough to take the points and earn Tower Hill Reserves a 1- 0win over Eynsham SSC Reserves.

Dan Hooton, Paul Townsend and Callum Rose were all on target for Milton Reserves as they saw off Wootton sports Reserves 3-1. Bradley Empson’s goal for the visitors was their only reply.
