Week 15 Football Report
As the Witney and District Christmas break descends upon the league, there will be a chance for teams to reflect on their fortunes so far.
Currently, there are five teams with 100% records (well done to Carterton FC, Hailey, Hook Norton, Bletchington and Milton Reserves). Two of last seasons promoted teams top their divisions and, in 2020, we already know we're guaranteed new Jack Busby Trophy winners, as well Witney and District sides being in strong contention for the county wide John Fathers Junior Shield and Charity Cup.

Here's how 2019 signed off.

Premier Division

Last season's division one champions Stonesfield will enter the New Year at the summit of the Premier Division after a thumping 7-0 victory over Spartan Rangers.
With both Hailey and Carterton FC's fixtures succumbing to the adverse weather conditions, Stonesfield simply needed to win by two clear goals to leapfrog both of them to top the league.
As has been a regular occurrence this season both Carry and Raffy Rice got on the score sheet as they both scored a brace. Mike Phipps, Sam Bodingham and Nick Higgs also got in on the action as Stonesfield stormed to the top in clinical fashion.

Ben Pearce scored from 45 yards as he helped Carterton Rangers defeat Tower Hill. Pearce's goal clearly the pick of the bunch for Rangers who also scored through Mykel Ryan and Steve Murphy. Josh Lathey grabbed Tower's response but the three points went to Rangers in the 3-1 win.

Division One

Minster Lovell Reserves are following Stonesfield's act by being the other promoted side to lead the pack at Christmas.
They safely dispatched Witney Royals thanks to a Rob Hipkin goal and a brace from Harry Puffitt. Corey Donohoe replied for Royals but Minster secured the win and now lead Enstone by four points heading into the New Year.

Jordan Godfrey fired in a hat-trick as he helped Chadlington comfortably see off Middle Barton.
Their 5-0 victory was complete after a Middle Barton player found his own net and a further goal from Alfie Peachey.

Division Two

Hook Norton are one of the sides to boast a 100% record this season as they beat Charlbury Town Reserves.
The league leaders didn't have it all their own way as Damien Corbin scored twice for Charlbury.
But Jay Mair showed that he loves scoring goals in December as he banged in his second hat-trick in two games to give Hook Norton control of proceedings. Further goals from James Ingham and Max Harris secured the win as they ran out 5-2 victors.

Ducklington required an inspired substitution to make sure of all three points against bottom side Carterton Town B.
Sam Duthie and a penalty from Tom Costley had given Duck the lead. Carterton hit back through Luke Vincent as the game was finely poised at 2-1. Ducklington then brought on Ady Kew and it proved to be the right decision as he grabbed a brace to give all three points to Duck. Vincent did grab a second for Town but it finished 4-2.

Adam Davis scored twice for Brize Norton as they managed to get the better of Siege FC. Andy Makepiece did fire one back for Siege but in a game of few chances it was Brize who held on for a valuable three points.

Division Three

Bletchington will be top at Christmas, and have a 100% record to defend in the New Year as they strolled past Chadlington Reserves.
Matt Chadwick did put Chadlington on the board but Bletchington proved to be superior thanks to goals from Matt Whitehead, Jamie Hudson and a Mason Connelly double in the 4-1 win.

Aston also scored four in grabbing victory as they carry on leading the chasing pack in second place.
They produced four different goal scorers as Pete Jenkins, Aaron Robins, Thom Robinson and Matt Brown all hit the net in the 4-2 win. Jake Harding and Nathan Harris supplied the consolation efforts for Royals.

Bourton Rovers Reserves young side continue to impress in the league as they jumped into third place. A hard fought 3-1 victory over Kingham Reserves was enough for them to jump one place in the standings. Liam White scored for Kingham with Max Sheppard replying for Rovers. Connor Hitchman's two goals secured the three points and their third consecutive win.

Chipping Norton Town are just three points off second after defeating Stonesfield Reserves. Ryan Snell scored for Stonesfield but Jack Knight's brace was enough to give Chippy a 2-1 victory and preserve their 100% home record this season.

Division Four

The prize for biggest winners of the weekend go to Brize Norton Reserves after a resounding 10-1 home win over FC Ascott. Richard Duffy scored half of Brize's goals with the other five goals supplied by Lee Litton, Jason Hirschfield, Thomas Cotgrove, Cameron West and Ollie Puddle. Jason Bufton grabbed the merest consolation goal for visiting Ascott.

Nick Edwards was the difference maker in a tightly fought contest between FC Ascott Rangers and East Oxford Rangers. East Oxford extended their lead at the top of division four to six points thanks to the 1-0 win.
