Witney & District Football Reports - Week 1

Premier Division

Eynsham SSC started life in the Premier Division with a 3-0 defeat at home to Chipping Norton Town, Daniel Bott with a brace for the visitors and Mark Corbett with the other gave Chippy a comfortable win.

Division One

Newly promoted Milton started this season where they left off last, with a 5-0 defeat. This time to Bampton United who were also promoted into Division One. Goals from Jordan Day, Ben Liddle and a hattrick from Daniel Paintin gave Bampton the start they were looking for.

Elliot Bryant, Dan Bishop and a double from Mark Threlfall helped FC Hollybush to a 4-0 win over Moreton Rangers, one of four teams to take the leap into Divison One from Two.

Division Two

Brize Norton kicked off their campaign in Division Two with a narrow 2-1 win away to Kingham All Blacks. Gareth Prices opener was cancelled out by two second half goals from Gezz Morgan and Rob Hook.

Tower Hill began their season with a 3-1 win over Chipping Norton Reserves. Mikey Roberts found the back of the net for Chippy but Ed Smith, Adam Bolley and Jamie Harris secured all three points for Tower.

Division Three

Division Three saw Aston Reserves come out on top in a 4-3 thriller at home to Witney Royals Reserves after being 3-1 down. Mikey Piper, Dave Elliot and Ollie Carpenter all bagged a goal for the Royals but Sam Rowe and a Ryan Hewer hattrick sealed the win for Aston.

Nothing could split the new look Ducklington Reserves side and Bourton Reserves as they shared the points in a 2-2 draw. Sam Duthie and Ciaran Doyle with the goals for the hosts, Matthew Winter and Keegan Bowes each with a goal for Bourton.

Division Four

There was only one game in Division Four this weekend, where newly formed Siege FC put 7 past Spartan Rangers A in a 7-1 win. Scott Hempsall, Karl Dodds, Tom Dix, Daryl Steele, Harrison Cameron and a double from Kevin Lewis made up the goals, Charlie Harper with the consolation for Spartan. Siege already looking the team to beat.
