John Fathers Oxfordshire Junior Shield

In the John Fathers Junior Shield, Witney & District teams meet other sides from around the country, including other W&D teams. FC Nomads hosted their own local derby against Aston. Unfortunately for the hosts, Ry Harding (2), Dan Long (2) and Keith Alcraft were all on target in their 5-2 defeat. Nomads could not muster enough to pull themselves level despite Steve Bircher’s first half brace.

Hanborough smashed 12 in past Bampton Town of the North Berkshire League. Liam Harris grabbed 4 with Richard Rouse netting a hat trick. Dan Haggie got two with Lewis White, Tom Lewis and Ryan Sollis all adding.

FC Chequers from Division One beat Tackley from Division 3. Paul Gray scored for the hosts, but goals from Mo Semlali, Marcus Townsend, Dan Harwood and Ryan Hewer gave Chequers a 4-1 win and comfortable passage into the next round.

Wychwood Forest had an equally straight forward test, beating Swis FC 6-0. Mike Bolt scored a hat trick, with Jason Trinder, Craig Isle and Dan Sollis adding,

Freeland beat Two Rivers 4-2. Lee Butler and Pawel Kulczyk scored for Rivers, but a brace a piece from Dan Alsworth and Darius Hodaei settled the tie.

Stanton Harcourt from Division Two went down 3-1 to Charlbury Town of the Premier. George Woodcock scored in the second half for the hosts but Tony Bott, Craig McCallum and Sean Gilbert scored the telling goals for Charlbury,

Witney Royals cruised comfortably through to the next round with a 5-1 win over AFC Marlborough from Division Four. Jamie Kennedy bagged a hat trick with Chris Coggins (2) adding.

Matt Townsend scored twice in Spartan Rangers 4-0 win over FC Naranja. James Clarke and Nick Brown also scored.

AC Finstock despatched a 5-0 win. Ashley Overton and Jason Blackman each bagged a brace with Ry Bowers grabbing the other.

Middle Barton were knocked out in a 3-1 defeat to Brize Norton. Martin Kay scored for the hosts, but goals from Chris Hunt, Patrick Crowley and Dan King took them through to the next round.

Combe were comfortable 6-1 winners over paragon. Simon Gale forced home a four timer with matt Baker and Steve Smith adding.

A Stu Cutts goal deep into Extra time was enough to see Ducklington through, 1-0 against Steeple Aston.

Rob DeBanks snatched the games only goal as FC Mills travelled to Banbury Galaxy to win 1-0.

North Leigh went out 5-3 on penalties after drawing 1-1 after extra time. Luke Simmnds scored North Leigh’s only goal.

John Ayres (2) and Matt Walker scored for Eynsham SSC in their 4-3 defeat to Great Milton. Eynsham, who had no substitutes went down to 10 men when Walker got injured and could not find a way back into the game.

Corinthians run in the cup was brough to an abrupt halt as they lost 9-0 to KEA.

Milton also didn’t fare so well as they were defeated 6-1 to Benson Lions. Adam Wallington with Milton’s only goal.

Minster Lovell put up a spirited fight but still lost 7-4 in an end to end game against Cowley Crusaders. Lee Travis (2), Ian Wright and Nyenya Courage scored for Minster.

Division One
West Witney missed the chance to close in on FC Cheuers at the top of Division One as they were held to a 2-2 draw against Ducklington Reserves. Chris Beechy and Dave Boughtflower scored for Witney with Frank Clarke and Andy Jarvie netting for Duck.

Witney Wanderers put their poor form behind them with a well earner 3-1 win over Hanborough Reserves. Scott Akers scored for the visitors with Darryl John, Keirn McPherson and Will Brown scoring for Wanderers.

Division Two
Ducklington A move 3 points clear at the top of Division Two after a comfortable 4-0 win over Spartan Rangers Reserves. Ross Clarkson (2), Gary Forest and Luke Glaister scored the goals.

A single Ryan Moore goal was enough to take all three points against Charlbury Town Reserves in Southrop’s 1-0 win .

Wootton beat Hailey Reserves 2-0. Jason Ludlow and Liam Gubbins with the goals.

The points were shared at Brize Norton Reserves where the hosts played out a 0-0 draw with Witney Royals Reserves.

Division Three
West Witney Reserves lead at the top of Division three was cut back after a 1-0 defeat to FC Chequers. Tom Gonzales scored the games only goal.

Chipping Norton Reserves were encouraged by their rivals defeat as they beat Minster Lovell Reserves 2-0. Mark Barnes and Marc Clifton scored the goals.

North Leigh B beat Aston Reserves 4-2. Craigh Horne (2), Darren Tasker and Lewis Hathaway scored the winning goals as Jason Fuller and Paul Herbert scored for Aston.

FC Mills Reserves went down 5-0 to Kingham AB Reserves. Gareth Price (2), Ben Harris (2) and Miles Harding scored for the visitors.

Division Four
Glen Wheeler, Dan Tasker and PauL Dray scored for FC Hollybush in their 3-0 win over Ducklington B.

Eynsham SSC Reserves went down 5-1 to Freeland B. PauL Meredith scored for the hosts, but Rob Belcher (2), Jason Footit, Ben Halsey and Mark Buckingham scored the goals for the visitors.
