Fred Ford Cup 1st Round

Ryan Stockford hit the net four times as Minster Lovell powered their way into the second round of the Fred Ford Cup. Johnny Fletcher also notched a hat-trick in Minster Lovell’s impressive 9-1 win over Division One’s Middle Barton. Sam Wright’s double finished off the Minster scoring. John Umney replied for Middle Barton but it will be Minster playing in round two.

Premier Division

Due to the horrendous weather only two fixtures survived in the Premier Division but they still managed to rack up 18 goals between them.
Tower Hill beat Spartan Rangers 8-2 but they definitely didn’t have things their own way. Spartan led 1-0 and 2-1 before Tower Hill battled back to take a 3-2 half time lead. The second half was a different story as Tower pushed on and scored five without reply. Yassin Elouahabi scored a hat-trick with James Scott, Lewis Bartlett and Kieran Watts scoring one each. Sam Britnell’s double rounded off the scoring for victorious Tower. Harry Thompson and a Josh Hookins penalty had put Spartan in the game before Tower stretched their lead in the second period.
The points were shared in the derby between Carterton Town A and Carterton Rangers but it was an eventful 4-4 draw nonetheless. Adam Lee and Jonny Dover both scored a brace for Rangers but Town pegged them back as Rich Hall scored a brace of his own. Alex Bradley and Ben Hayes scored one each to ensure the game finished all square

Division One

There were two games in Division One as well but the goals continued to flood in.

Witney Royals ran riot in defeating Kingham All Blacks 7-2. Dale Norris and Gaz Price scored for Kingham but it wasn’t to be as Ozzy Oswald (2), Liam Readhead, Luke Rippington, Corey Donohoe and Josh Grant all scored for Royals. A Kingham own goal completed the scoring as Royals grabbed the three points.
Enstone let a three goal lead slip as Chadlington fought back from three nil down to take a share of the spoils. Rhys Warner-Carter and a Nathan Bott brace had put Enstone in firm control but Alfie Peachey, Jacob Hazelwood and Konrad Weyzk all struck one to give Chadlington a hard earned point.

Division Two
There were seventeen goals in the two games played in Division Two

Jay Mair took the headlines as he scored six times as Hook Norton defeated Brize Norton. Tyler Bradley and Harry Prickett scored once each to take Hook Norton’s tally to eight. Brize Norton hit back through penalties from Shaun Rawlings and Ryan Weston. Rob Hook and Adam Davis also scored once each but Hook Norton won 8-4.
Wootton Sports grabbed their second league win of the season with a 5-0 win over Spartan Rangers Reserves. Karl Ware scored a brace with Dan Leggett, Dan Power and Lee Spencer all scoring one each as Wootton fired their way to victory.

Division Three

A Jack Knight hat-trick set Chipping Norton Town on their way for their second home win of the season. They put five past Witney Royals Reserves to maintain a 100% home record for the season so far, Darren Bridge and George Kay completed the scoring for Town with Liam Varney grabbing the consolation for Royals.

Division Four

East Oxford Rangers marched to the top of Division Four thanks to a 7-1 victory over Sherborne Harriers. Jason Blackman scored a hat-trick and was able supported by team mates Gareth James, Lewis Smith, Marcus Owsnet and Shaun Rowbotham who all scored one each. Arron Lowe grabbed Sherborne’s consolation.
James Haley was also a hat-trick hero as he helped fire Bampton United Reserves to victory over FC Ascott. Steve Newman and Harry Heritage also scored in the 5-1 win. Chris Blayney grabbed FC Ascott’s consolation
