Oxfordshire Charity Cup

Witney and District representatives Carterton Town A progressed to the second round of the Oxfordshire Charity Cup with a 3-1 win over away at Horspath. Ellis Wapshott, Tomasz Mazur and Dave Wanless with the goals.

Jack Busby Memorial Trophy

Eynsham Reserves crashed out of the Jack Busby Memorial Trophy in extra time as they lost 7-5 to Chipping Norton Reserves in a thrilling game. Alex Timms, Shaun Rowbotham, Stephen Chappel, Dan Harwood and Jamie Hewitt all grabbed a goal for Eynsham but goals from Lucas Dolezel, Joey Stevens, Richard Stevens, Chris Mason, Rocky Burton and two for Matt Smith saw Chippy into the second round.

Premier Division

Josh Hunt’s brace helped Chipping Norton to a point as they hosted Hailey in a 2-2 draw. Jack Wood and Zach Oliver with the goals for Hailey.

Kirtlington’s Shane Probitts’ double was in vain as they lost 4-2 to visitors Combe. James Minchin, Patch Gardener, Charlie Ibbotson and Dale Crowie helped Combe to their fourth win of the season.

Minster Lovell are still looking for their first league win of the campaign as they lost 3-1 at home to Charlbury Town. John Fletcher found the back of the net for Minster but Mark Goode’s double and a goal for Stefan Lang gave Charlbury all three points.

Hanborough’s 100% start to the season looked to be coming to an end as they went 2-0 down to Spartan Rangers thanks to goals from Matt Howard and Matt Swiergon but with the help of Jack Morton’s hattrick Hanborough soon found their feet and won the game 7-2. Ian Steele, Dan King, Jonny Ayris and Rob Keylock also got involved in the scoring.

Division One

Moreton Rangers’ dreadful start to the season continued as they got thumped 11-1 by Bampton United. Connor O’Shea and Jake Pritchard each bagged a hattrick, Sid Ashely with a brace and one each for Nathan Beckett, Daniel Paintin and Lloyd Hancock.

Jamie MacDonogh scored his fourth of the season as Carterton Rangers and Stonesfield shared the points in a 1-1 draw. Paul Penney with the goal for Stonesfield.

Chadlington and Milton couldn’t be split as their game finished 2-2. Matt Chadwick and Ashley Scearce both scored for the second week running. Jake Taylor and Alex Ayres with the goals for Milton.

Aston made it 4 wins in a row with a narrow 2-1 win away at Ducklington. Perry Tinson scored for Ducklington but Jamie Kennedy and Vince Evans’ goals saw Aston moved up to third.

FC Hollybush now sit 5 points clear at the top of Division One as they put 9 past FC Nomads without reply. Two goals each for Bradley Bryant and Dan Bishop whilst Andrew Hoderin, Chris Marshall, Alan Rogers, Steve Holder and Mark Threlfall all chipped in.

Division Two

FC Ascott made it 6 wins in a row as they had no trouble putting 6 past Hailey Reserves. Steve Harries scored three, taking his tally to 15 this season. Ashley Davies hit a double and Ryan Clement got the sixth for Ascott.

Hanborough Reserves moved to second with a slender 2-1 victory over Brize Norton. Bartek Lachwicz scored for Brize but Keith Frendo and Joey Burgess helped Hanborough to all three points.

Sam Philpott scored his sixth goal of the season in Kingham’s 2-1 win over local rivals, Middle Barton. Jack Eley got one back for Barton but Olly Peter’s sealed the win with a penalty.

Tower Hill came back from 1-0 down to beat Spartan Rangers Reserves 8-2 in their fifth win of the season. Jack Simpson and Charlie Harper with the consolation goals for Spartan but Jack Scott, Bradley Olive, Lewis Bartlett, Adam Bolley and two each for James Scott and Jamie Mariani gave Tower the emphatic win.

Witney Wanderers stunned league leaders Tower Hill Stars as Stu Morrison’s goal was enough for the 1-0 Wanderers win.

Division Three

Bletchington’s Jimmy Deabill scored his first hattrick of the season as they put 5 past Minster Lovell Reserves without reply. Mark White and Jake Godfrey also grabbed a goal for Bletch.

Corinthians moved up to fifth with a convincing 4-1 win over Ducklington Reserves. Ady Kew found the back of the net for Duck but Dan Smith and three for Frank Webb saw Corinthians take all the points.

Witney Royals Reserves are still in search for their first win of the season as they drew 1-1 with bottom of the table Bampton United Reserves. Oliver Carpenter scored for Royals, Steve Newman for Bampton.

Wootton got their first win since the opening day of the season with a comfortable 7-1 victory over FC Hollybush Reserves. John Bignell scored for Hollybush but Luke Leggett, Michael Steers, Jamie Hutton and a hat-trick for Lee Spencer saw Wootton move up to sixth and take all three points. James Trafford also scored his first ever goal in adult football at the ripe old age of 29. Sadly his celebrations were slightly over the top and much to the amusement of his team-mates he was yellow carded

[b]Division Four[/b]

Dan Thomas scored a brace as Brize Norton Reserves beat FC Ascott Reserves 4-1. Danny Briggs with Ascott’s goal, Lee Litton and Scott Peaper completed the scoring for Brize.

Leon Richards hit five as Combe Reserves put 6 past Chadlington Reserves. Charlie White scored two for Chad, Matt Dale got the sixth for Combe.

Davy Cooper scored his fifth of the season as FC Mills moved up to third in their 5-3 win over Kingham Reserves. Paul Read, Rob DeBanks, Dan Harwood and Jack Summerfield helped with the scoring for Mills. Tom Matthews, Adrian Williams and Matt Lewis pitched in with Kinghams three.

Nathan Howells’ hattrick inspired Siege FC to a convincing 8-0 win over Wootton Reserves. Karl Dodds, Chris Bowles, Carl Austin, Connor Harrison and Will Griffiths also found the goal.

Stonesfield Reserves dropped their first points of the season in a 2-2 draw with league leaders Milton Reserves. Dan Hooton scored both of Miltons goals. Liam Harris and Shaun Kemp both netted for Stonesfield.
