Fred Ford Cup

Carterton Rangers met local rivals Carterton Town A in the second round of the Fred Ford Cup, losing 3-1. Jamie MacDonogh grabbed the consolation for Rangers, Tommy Burns and two for Olly Bush helped Town through to the next round.

Chipping Norton and Brize Norton took part in one of the games of the season over the weekend. 3 goals for Brize in the last ten minutes took the game into extra-time at 5-5. Both teams scored again in extra-time to make it 6-6 but the match was to be decided on penalties. Brize came out 3-0 victors seeing them through to the next round away to Kirtlington. Daniel Bott and Rhys Warner Carter scored two each, Aaaron Witham and Andrew Helby helped with the Chippy Scoring but Jake Farraiga, Olly Puddle and a double for Bartek Lachwicz and Gezz Morgan secured Brize the emphatic win.

Combe travel to Kingham in the next round thanks to a second round bye against Bampton United.

Ducklington also got a bye and are now into the last 16 as they’re game was called off against Moreton Rangers, they’ll face Minster Lovell away.

Steve Harries, Sam Cairns and Ryan Clement helped FC Ascott to a comfortable 3-0 victory over Corinthians to see them through to the last 16. They’ll take on the undefeated Prem side, Hanborough.

Division 4 side FC Mills held Prem side Spartan Rangers to a 0-0 draw but goals from Frank Clarke and Matt Timms saw Spartan progress to the next round in extra-time.

Seb White’s hattrick inspired Minster Lovell to a 6-0 win away to FC Nomads. Sam Wright, Josh White and John Fletcher also chipped in with the goals.

Hailey scraped through to the next round with a 4-3 win over Charlbury Town with a solo goal from Rob Styles and a hattrick for Martin Latimer, they’ll face Bletchington or Aston in the next round. Steve Hunt, Craig McCallum and Paul Allen replied for Charlbury.

Hanborough kept up their impressive form with a 4-1 win over Division 4 new boys, Siege FC. Darryl Steele found the net for Siege but an own goal, Joey Burgess and two for Jack Morton showed Hanborough’s superiority.

Kirtlington will take on Brize Norton in the last 16 after their 4-1 win over Milton. Three more goals for Shane Probitts took his tally up to eleven for the season, Jake East also found the goal for Kirtlington, Jim Littlewood hit back for Milton.

Witney Royals and Witney Wanderers took part in a 4-3 thriller, going Royals’ way. Goals from Fabio Fernandes, Sam Britnell and two for James O’Sullivan means Royals will take on Middle Barton or Chadlington in the next round. Tom Ackling’s brace and Stu Morrison’s goal weren’t enough to see Wanderers through.

Kingham All Blacks scraped through to the next round with a 2-1 win over Wootton. Lee Spencer gave Wootton the lead but Gareth Price scored late on to take it into extra time where Olly Peters would find the winner 5 minutes from time.

Division Two

Hanborough Reserves moved up to fourth in Division Two with a second consecutive 3-0 win, away at Chipping Norton Reserves. Dan Burgess, Herbie Hamilton and Mark Stinchcombe with the goals.

Jack Eley and John Umney helped Middle Barton leap frog Tower Hill in the table with a 2-1 home win. Jamie Goodwin scored for Tower.

Hailey Reserves made it two wins on the bounce with a 3-1 victory away at Spartan Rangers Reserves. Scott Mason found the goal for Spartan but goals for David Weetman, Dan Hill and Mo Semlali gave Hailey all three points.

Division Three

Aston Reserves still find themselves unbeaten in the league with a comfortable 4-0 win over Ducklington Reserves. Ryan Lewis, Jack Green, Jamie Keneedy and Vince Evans with the goals.

Charlbury Town Reserves finally conceded a goal in their 4-3 win over Bourton Rovers Reserves. Michael Hayes, Ryan Healing and two for Damian Corbin kept Charlburys winning streak going. Lee Mosson, Alex Lepian and Ben McPhilimey with the goals for Bourton.

Charlie McCulloch’s double saw Minster Lovell Reserves and Witney Royals Reserves share the points in their 2-2 draw. Dale Howlett and Colin Morris scored for Royals.

Division Four

Brize Norton Reserves got their second win of the season with a 4-1 win over Chadlington Reserves, who are yet to gain a point in the league. Charles Bishop with the consolation for Chad. Jason Hirshfield, Kevin Ridgeway and two for Richard Duffy kept Brize in 9th place.

Leke Shodunkes double hattrick helped Combe Reserves to an 11-3 mauling over Eynsham Reserves. Dan Harwood, Shaun Rowbotham and Ben Kichin found the net for Eynsham but it was in vain as Robin Chan, Simon Gale, Dave Snook, two for Shay Paige and Leke’s six saw Combe move up to sixth place.

Milton Reserves found themselves top of the table with a 3-0 win away at Kingham Reserves. George Ford’s brace and Dan Hooton’s solo effort gave Milton their fourth win of the season.

Spartan Rangers A came so close to moving off of the bottom of the table with a narrow 2-1 loss against FC Ascott Reserves. Scott Mason scored for Spartan but Will Coles and Brandon Laing’s goal kept Spartan rock bottom of the Witney and District.

Chris Angus, Luke Tuppeney, Jamie Gardner and two for Liam Harris helped Stonesfield Reserves to a 5-0 win at home to Wooton Reserves.
