Witney & District Football Reports - Week 18

Premier Division

Carterton Town A moved up to fourth with an 8-0 hammering over Hailey. Mike Bolt moved up to 8 for the season with a hattrick, Wes Chrisitan found himself with a brace and there was one each for Rich Longford, Dave Wanless and Rob Marsh.

Spartan Rangers made it 3 wins in 4 with their biggest win of the season, beating Witney Royals 9-1. James O'Sullivan hit a consolation for Royals but Dave Cross' four and goals from Jamies Timms, Charlie Harper, Kieren Watts, Henry Clarke and Matt Timms moved Spartan up to sixth place.

Division One

FC Hollybush made it 11 league wins in 11 with a 4-1 win over second place Carterton Rangers. They're now 8 points clear with a game in hand. Andrew Stone scored a penalty for the visitors, Rangers, but a goal from Alan Rogers and three for Dan Bishop lead FC Hollybush to all three points.

Lewis Colwell's brace helped sixth place Stonesfield to a 4-2 win over fifth place FC Nomads. Tim Wyatt and Nick Clarke secured the win. Josh Truby and Chris Laurence got the consolation goals for Nomads.

Division Two

Hailey Reserves picked up their first league win since October in a narrow 3-2 victory over Brize Norton. Mo Semlali, Perry Tinson and Tom Gregory helped their side to a much needed three points. Haydn Parker and Olly Puddle were on target for Brize.

Tower Hill Stars moved up to second with a convincing 8-4 win over a valiant Chipping Norton Reserves side. Yusef Okunade scored twice for Chippy, Tomask Dolezel and Rhys Warner-Carter were also both on target but all three points went to Stars, thanks to Leigh Travers, Matty Claridge and a brace each for Craig Mays, Adam Townsend and Darren Tasker.

Division Three

Frank Webb moved up to 23 goals for the season with 4 against Witney Royals Reserves as Corinthians won 6-1. Rob DeBanks scored for Royals but another two for Daryl Wells moved Corinthians up to fourth.

Division Four

Title challenging FC Mills were held to a second draw in as many weeks as they couldn't break down a strong Stonesfield Reserves side. Luke Burns scored for Stonesfield before Lee Senior hit back for Mills in their 1-1 draw.

Kingham All Blacks Reserves made it 4 unbeaten as they put 3 past Spartan Rangers A without reply. Nathan Brookes opened the scoring before Olly Peters' double sealed the win.
