Witney & District Football Reports - Week 15

Premier Division

Charlbury Town remained top of the Prem with a 2-1 win over struggling side Hailey thanks to goals from Mike Thompson and Craig McCallum. Jack Wood scored Hailey’s only goal.

Hanborough were in fine form as they put an astonishing 9 past Carterton Town A, without reply, in one of the results of the season. Jack Morton bagged four goals whilst Will Potter, Ian Steele, Joey Burgess, Dan Burgess and Dan Haggie were al on target.

Spartan Rangers picked up their first league win of the season as they beat Eynsham SSC 6-2. Matt Howard scored four, Josh Grant and Henry Clarke also chipped in. Matthew Hall and Dave Primhak scored for Eynsham.

Witney Royals’ Telmo Fernandes’ helped his side to a point as they were held at home to Chipping Norton Town in a 1-1 draw. Sam Jones scored for the visitors.

Division One

Bampton United picked up their first league win in three as they beat Stonesifled 3-0, thanks to a Jake Pritchard double and a solo effort from Connor Kelly.

Carterton Rangers made it 4 wins in 4 as they thrashed Ducklington 10-0, thanks to a Dan Hall hat trick, a Jonny Dover brace and a goal a piece for Billy Hales, Jack Barker, Carl Shirley, Adam Lee and Mykel Ryan.

FC Hollybush recorded their biggest win of the season and kept their winning start to the season intact as they put 10 past FC Nomads without reply. Bradley Bryant hit three whilst Dan Bishop helped himself to two goals. Luke Turner, Jacob Hughes, Alan Rogers, Chris Marshall and Jamie Stalker all chipped in.

Division Two

Mahz Alam’s brace helped Spartan Rangers to a 3-2 victory over hosts Chipping Norton Reserves. Yusef Okunade and Mikey Roberts scored for the home side but Alam’s goals and a solo effort from Joel Spalding gave Spartan the victory.

Kingham All Blacks picked up their first win in 5 as they demolished visitors Witney Wanderers 6-2. Sam Philpott scored 4, moving him up to 12 goals for the season, Olly Peters and Jack Aitken also scored for the All Blacks. Unsure on Wanderers scorers.

Middle Barton’s good run of form came to an end as they were beaten 6-0 at home to Tower Hill Starts. Ashley Overton scored 4, Will Smaldon and Joe Crawley finished off the scoring.

Division Three

Mikey Piper’s double was in vain as league leaders Bletchington moved 9 points clear in their 6-2 victory over Witney Royals Reserves. Jimmy Deabill and Danny Evans both scored twice with Jake Godfrey and Nicky Middleton also finding themselves on the scoresheet.

Corinthians got back to winning ways as they beat bottom of the table, Bampton United Reserves, 6-1. Steve Newman was on target for Bampton but Tom Ballards hat trick and goals from Frank Webb, Daryl Wells and Steve Hancock secured all three points for Corinthians.

Ducklington Reserves moved up to 7th with a 4-2 win over strugglers FC Hollybush Reserves, thanks to goals from Courage Nyenya, Tom Davies, Rory Dunseath and Ady Kew. Aidan Mclean and Timmy Stiddard scored for Hollybush.

Division Four

Combe Reserves pulled off a huge upset as they beat high flyers FC Mills 3-2. Thanks to goals from Ethan Penney, James Minchin and Sam Hibbard. Davy Cooper and Paul Read scored for Mills.

Kingham Reserves picked up their first win in four as they beat bottom of the table Eynsham Reserves 8-2. James Quilty came off the bench to score a 10 minute hat trick, Adrian Williams also hit a hat trick, Shane Cooper and Dale Norris headed home to make it 8. Markus Jeacock and Lee Parsons found the goal for the hosts.

Spartan Rangers A pulled off a huge result and won only their third of the season as they beat Milton Reserves 3-2, thanks to a brace from Man Gundeem and a Jeremy Inglis’ solo effort. Harry Lake and Jim Littlewood scored for Milton.
