Match Reports - Week 9

Premier Division
Witney Royals picked up their first points of the season after a 4-2 win over fellow strugglers, Minster Lovell. The goals were shared amongst Matt Thompson, Ryan Colleton, Chris Catchpole and Jordan Cross. Seb White replied with both of Minsters goals.

At the other end of the table, leaders West Witney pulled away from the chasing pack courtesy of a 2-0 win over Hailey. Russ Steele scored against his former club with Carl Austin adding the other.

Matt Currill and Pat Gardner both scored to give Combe a 2-0 win over Chipping Norton Town.

Hanborough were involved in an epic battle with Charlbury Town and eventually ran out 7-5 winners. Joey Burgess bagged a hat trick with Rob Keylock (2), Warren Vandenberg and Aston Leach also adding. Charlbury registered through Paul Allen, Sean Gilbert, Marke Goode and Craig McCallum.

Ducklington and Bourton Rovers each had to settle for a point as they played out a 3-3 draw. Tom Gregory and Tom Costley along with Charlie King all found the beck of the net for the hosts with Callum Trott, Adam Webley and Keelan Gilbert all scoffing for Bourton.

Division One
With leaders Kirtlington having no game this weekend, the pressure was on those behind to close the gap. Eynsham SSC did just that, but hard to work hard against a resolute Hailey Reserves team, to earn a 3-1 win. Struggling Hailey notched through Tom Gonzales, but Eynsham’s patience paid off with John Ayres, Matt Walker and Ryan Stockford all finding the onion bag.

Carterton Rangers also made ground on top spot as they marmalised Chadlington 7-1. Callum Jeffries scored for the hoses but a Dan Hall hat trick accompanied by a brace each from Jonny Dover and Jamie McDonough was more than enough .

FC Hollybush also ran out convincing winners after a 9-3 mauling of Brize Norton. Steve Holder scored four with Richard Williams (2), Elliot Bryant, Kane Lewin and Brad Bryant all adding. Brize’s goals came from Pawel Bronk and Rob Hook.

North Leigh A went down 2-0 to Spartan Rangers with Josh Grant and Dave Cross getting on the score sheet.

The points were shared at Stonesfield where the hosts drew 2-2 with Aston. Paul Penny and Ed Gilkes were on target for Stonesfield with Aston’s Mike Hedges netting a brace to bring parity to the score line.

Division Two
Form side Witney Wanderers slipped up against mid-table Milton going down 3-2 to the visitors. Stu Morrison and Ben Border scored for the host but goals from Alex Ayres, Jake Forster and Dan Keitley secured the win for Milton.

Wanderers’ slip gave Carterton Town B the opportunity to go top, which they took courtesy of a 4-0 win over Hanborough Reserves. Dan Sollis, Olly Bush, Luke Simmonds and Jason Hirshfield all got on the score sheet.

Spartan Rangers Reserves saw off Ducklington Reserves with a resounding 8-1 thrashing. Craig Isle banged in a hat trick with the other goals shared amongst Joel Spalding, Damien Perks, Omar Semlali, Martin Ferreira and Alex Thomson. Sam Quinn scored the lone reply for Duck.

Mykel Ryan also registered a hat trick in Minster Lovell Reserves 6-3 win over Moreton Rangers. Jack Booth, David Souch and Neil Crozier completed the rout with Jim Larner and David Toon replying for Moreton.

Matt Smith scored a hat trick for Chipping Norton Town Reserves but ended up losing 6-3 to hosts Bampton.

Division Three
At the top of Division Three, Eynsham A suffered their first loss of the season; a 3-2 home defeat to Wychwood Forest who are yet to drop any points. Oli Page and Jordan Lyne scored for the hosts but goals from Steve Harris (2) and Matt Hanson secured the win for Wychwood and move them to within a point of the leaders.

Tower Hill Stars evened things out in the chasing pack by beating Corinthians 3-0. Will Graham scored twice with Adam Townsend getting the other.

Behind them, Tower Hill were made to work for their 3 points after a 5-2 win over a battling Witney Royals Reserves. Max Lucas and Mikey Piper scored for Royals but goals from Lewis Bartlett, Ed Smith, Ian Wright and a brace from Will Hayes secured the points.

Towards the bottom, Enstone went down 3-0 to Bourton Rovers Reserves with the goals coming from Ross Temple-Richmond, Lee Mosson and Luke Harding.

FC Mills game against Bampton United Reserves was abandoned three quarters of the way through after Bampton player, Steven Allery suffered a broken leg. He is now recovering in hospital after a successful operation and is due home tomorrow.

Division Four
Leaders Charlbury Town Reserves lost dropped points at the top as they were held to a 2-2 draw against Stonesfield Reserves. Daryl Potter and Gary Jones scored for the home side with a Chris Jordan brace levelling things for the visitors.

A single goal from Charlie Fisher was enough to secure the win and give the visitors all three points as Aston Reserves beat Wootton Reserves 1-0.

Spartan Rangers A romped to an 8-1 win over Wychwood Forest Reserves. The goals were shared amongst the team. Jamie Saverton (2), Tom Merchant, James Macke, Dan Briggs, Leon Steele, Will Cook and Dan Malins all scored with Jason Bufton rpelying for Wychwood.

Arron Hyatt netted a hat trick in FC Hollybush Reserves’ 6-0 win over Combe Reserves. Dave Cooper netted a brace with Darren Smith getting the other.

Darren Mobey also scored a hat trick in Eynsham SSC’s 5-0 win over Brize Norton Reserves. Shaun Rowbotham and Alex Timms added the others.

The was hat trick also for Jim Rawlins in Milton Reserves 6-2 win over Chadlington Reserves. Dan Hooton scored twice with Harry Nolan getting the other. Matt North and Richard French replied for Chad.
