Match Reports - Week 5

Premier Division
West Witney maintained their 6 point lead at the top of the Premier Division after a 3-1 win over Witney Royals. Jamie Kennedy scored a penalty for Royals but goals from Ian Sparkes, Kevin Lewis and Kai Merritt secured all three points for the hosts.

Bourton Rovers stay in second courtesy of a 4-2 win over Charlbury Town. Mark Goode and Paul Allen scored the goals for the hosts, but a brace from Connor Teague and strikes from Dan Smith and Adam Webley ensured Bourton left with a win.

The points were shared at Combe where the hosts held current Champions, Carterton Town A to a 1-1 draw. Oliver Morgan-Bellamy and Carl Williams scored for Combe and Town respectively.

Ducklington took all three points after their 3-2 win over Minster Lovell. Tom Gregory (2) and Perry Tinson were on target for the hosts with Craig Sallis and Seb White replying for Minster.

It was even-stevens at Hanborough where the hosts drew 1-1 with Chipping Norton Town. Will Potter netted for Boro’ with Andy McCabe replying for Chippy.

Division One
Kirtlington maintained their perfect start to the season and extended their lead at the top of Division One after a 7-2 win over Chadlington. Shane Probitts hit 4 goals with Jake East (2) and Ross Grey getting the others. Charlie White and Warren Hughes scored for Chad.

Eynsham SSC lost ground on the leaders after they were held to a 1-1 draw with Aston. Andy Stratford scored for the hosts with Dan Molony replying for Aston.

Dave Cross hit a hat trick in Spartan Rangers 8-2 win over Brize Norton. The rest were shared amongst Harry Thomson, Charlie Waite, Donny Henderson-Sowerby, Luke Petifer and Rob Marchbank. Hayden Parker a Ben Allen own goal were Brize’s only response.

Bradley Bryant scored a hat trick in FC Hollybush’s 3-1 win over Hailey Reserves. Mo Semlali scored Hailey’s consolation.

Stonesfield overtook North Leigh in the league after handing out a 4-1 defeat to their hosts. Paul Penny (2), Matthew Perry and Mike Phipps scored the telling goals with Joey Aust getting North Leigh’s only goal.

Division Two
Witney Wanderers moved to the top of Division Two after a 5-2 win over Ducklington Reserves. Jakub Ondistka and Jack Holifield scored for Duck but goals from Stu Morrison, James Bason, Michael Bason, Gary Atkinson and Josh Walkington settled the tie in Wanderers favour.

Gary Loker scored the only goal of the game as Moreton Rangers beat Bampton United 1-0.

Milton went down 5-3 to FC Nomads. The hosts scored through Jim Littlewood, Alex Ayres and Leigh Hilary, but goals from Daz Craig (2), Steve Bircher, Chris Lawrence and an own goal settled the match in Nomads favour.

Carterton Town B moved into fourth courtesy of a 7-2 win over Spartan Rangers Reserves. There were doubles for Olly Bush, Dan Sollis and Dan Robinson with Adam Harris getting the odd goal. Martin Ferreira and Joel Spalding replied in vain for Spartan.

The points were shared as Chipping Norton Town Reserves and Kingham All Blacks drew 1-1. Matt Chadwick and Charlie Lucas scored for Chippy and Kingham resepectively.

Minster Lovell Reserves went down 2-0 to Hanborough Reserves with Eoin Burns and Chris Leach both on target.

Division Three
Eynsham A extended their lead at the top of Division Three after a 5-1 thrashing of Bampton United Reserves. Tyler Walker (2), Olie Page, Oli Hinchcliffe and Jordan Lyne were all on target with Sammy Hancock getting Bamptons only goal.

Jack Ely grabbed a hat trick as Middle Barton saw off Witney Royals Reserves 6-1. John Umney bagged a brace with Nick Acock completing the rout. Matt Timson’s long range effort was Royals’ only highlight.

Charlie Fisher, Aidy Kew and Sam Duthie all found the back of the net as Aston Reserves beat Milton Reserves 3-1. Dan Hooton’s strike for Milton was scant consolation.

Division Four
Chadlington Reserves leapfrogged Charlbury Town Reserves into second place after goals from Jordan Godfrey (2) and Lee Woodward gave them a 3-2 win over the visitors. Mike Thompson and Sam Cleaver replied for the visitors.

Simon Gale stole the show as Combe Reserves beat Kingham All Blacks Reserves 4-2. Liam Barnes and Olly Peters goals for Kingham were not quite enough.

Peter Searle scored a hat trick in Stonesfield Reserves 7-2 mauling of Wychwood Forest Reserves. Rob McCelland, Pete Miller, and Luke Parker also scored in the win with a Wychwood registering through a Mike Johnson brace.

Wootton Reserves beat Spartan Rangers A 3-2 with goals from Lawrence Lockie, Dan Boulton and Jack Pease. Matt Townsends two for Spartan were not quite enough for a point.

John Fathers Oxfordshire Junior Shield 15-16 - 1st Round
Wootton are through to the next round of the John Fathers Junior Shield after seeing off Banbury Galaxy 4-2. Jon Holder (2), Paul Biggam and James Cox scored the telling goals.

Wychwood Forest are also through after a 4-2 win over Tower Hill Stars. Jack Gibson (2), John Wood and Ashley Davis found the back of the net for the hosts with Kevin Davies netting twice for Stars.

Will Hayes and Luke Hessey each bagged a brace in Tower Hill’s 4-2 win over FC Langford.

Enstone are out after an 8-0 thrashing at the hands of Chacombe.

Corinthians put up a better fight but were still knocked out courtesy of an 8-4 defeat to Chasewell Park. Peter Barncoat (2), Harry Puffitt and Jordan Anderson netted for the Witney & District side.

FC Mills are also out after going down 3-1 to Finmere. Rob DeBanks scored Mills only goal.
