Match Reports - Week 4

Premier Division
West Witney now lead the Premier Division by three points after they recorded a convincing 7-1 win over Hanborough. Mike Duerden bagged 4 goals of his sides seven, with Chris Hirons, Ian Sparkes and Simon Thompson getting the others. Joey Burgess scored Boro’s lone reply.

Hailey slipped to second place after being held to a 3-3 draw by Ducklington. Tom Gregory, Connor Newcombe and Jack Scott scored the goals for the visitors with Luke Manning (2) and Mo Semlali replying for Hailey who had a player dismissed for violent conduct.

Charlbury Town dropped a couple of placed to third as they went down 2-1 to Chipping Norton Town. Mark Goode scored for the hosts but goals from Nick Jones and a Matt Jeffreys penalty was enough to secure the points for Chippy.

Roger Moss (2), Ethan Penney (2), Sean Holley and Matt Baker were all on target as Combe beat Minster Lovell 7-2. Gary Mitchell and Josh White replied in vain for Minster.

Division One
Kirtlington continued their 100% start to the season and stay top of Division One after a well-earned win over North Leigh A. The goals were shared amongst Alex Metcalfe (2), Toby Smith, Shane Probitts and Jake East with Justin Timms and Max Godwin hitting back for North Leigh.

Eynsham SSC who have also won all their games continued in the same vein after a sound 8-0 thrashing of Chadlington. JohN Ayres was again amongst the scorers, picking up a hat trick. The rout was completed with goals from Ryan Stockford, Jason Blackman, Max Leach and Matt Walker.

FC Hollybush picked up their first win after seeing off Spartan Rangers 3-1. Brad Bryant, Harry Cornforth and Alan Rogers were all on the score sheet. Matt Timms pulled one back for Spartan.

Aston also maintained their perfect start to the season with a narrow 2-1 win over Hailey Reserves. Tom Gonzales scored for the hosts but strikes from Ian Peedell and Ross Fleming settled the tie in Aston’s favour.

A single Jamie McDonough goal was enough to earn Carterton Rangers all three points in their 1-0 win over Stonesfield.

Division Two
Jake Pritchard netted a four-goal-haul in Bampton United’s 9-2 thrashing of Carterton Town B. Ben Liddle also grabbed a hat trick with Lloyd Hancock and Callum Hooper getting the others in a result which saw Bampton go top. Carterton’s two goals were scored by Olly Bush.

Spartan Rangers Reserves pipped Witney Wanderers 2-1 moving them into second place. Charlie Harper and Omar Semlali were on target for the hosts with Bernie Crumlish pulling one back for Wanderers.

Leigh Hilary and Jake Forster both found the back of the net in Milton’s 2-1 win over Chipping Norton Town Reserves. Both sides finished the game with 10 men as a result of a red card a piece. Matt Chadwick scored Chippys reply.

Minster Lovell Reserves earned their first 3 points of the season after a 4-2 win over FC Nomads. The goals were shared equally amongst Charlie McCullough, Mykel Ryan, Ben Jackson and Jack Booth. Chris Laurence scored twice for Nomads.

Division Three
Eynsham A replace Corinthians at the top of Division Three after edging them out in a narrow 4-3 win. Perry Letten scored twice for the hosts with Adam Major getting the other, however goals from Declan Green, Oli Page, Jordan Lyne and Max Davies swung the tie in Eynsham’s favour sending them top.

Jack Ely picked up a 7-goal haul in Middle Barton’s 11-0 thrashing of FC Mills. The rest were scored by John Umney (2), Josh Hunt and Jack Fowler.

In the battle of the ‘Two Towers’, it was Tower Hill who emerged victorious by beating their opponents; Tower Hill Stars, 2-1. It was a closely fought match, which was won for the hosts by goals from Lewis Bartlett and Luke Bolley with Andy Jackson getting one back for ‘Stars’.

Witney Royals Reserves’ early season form seemed to have deserted them as they went down 6-2 to Wootton. Ryan Cummins and Max Lucas were on target for the hosts but a quick fire opening from the visitors saw them take a 4-0 half time lead. Despite playing most of the second half with 10 men after a dismissal, they were relentless and goals from Graham Berry (2), James Cox (2), Fraser Scott, Matt Akers and Graham Berry sealed the win.

Phil Gair and Ashley Davies each bagged a brace in Wychwood Forest’s 5-1 win over Bourton Rovers Reserves. Steve Harris added the fifth with Ross Temple-Richmond replying for Bourton.

Division Four
Aston Reserves recorded a 16-0 mauling over Wychwood Forest Reserves moving them into second place. There were hat tricks for Aidy Kew and Sam Duthie, with a brace a piece for Chris Poulson and Charlie Fisher. The rout was completed when strikes from Dan and Simon Isherwood, Rory Dunseath, Sam Murphy, Paul Croxford and Jack Goodchild all flew into the net.

Stonesfield Reserves picked up their first three points of the season after defeating Combe Reserves 2-1. Charlie Ibbotson was on target for the hosts but goals from Connor Ladbrooke and Josh Page settled the tie in favour of the visitors.

Eynsham SSC Reserves went down 8-1 to visitors Charlbury Town Reserves. Darryl Porter scored a hat trick with further goals from Jake Godfrey (2), Josh Benson and Steve Fitzgerald. Mark Webster scored Eynsham’s lone reply.

Kingham All Blacks Reserves recorded their second win after a 4-2 defeat of Brize Norton Reserves. Liam Barnes scored a hat trick with Kingham’s Jake Godfrey getting the other. Jacek Kokosza and Darren Light were on target for Brize.

The points were shared Spartan where, Spartan Rangers A drew 3-3 with Chadlington Reserves. James Macke, Matt Townsend and Doug Mulvihill were all on target for the host with Callum Jefferies, Lee Woodward and Josh Betts replying for Chad.

Wootton Reserves went down 5-1 to FC Hollybush Reserves. Jack Pease scored for the hosts but a hat trick from Davy Cooper and strikes from Paul Heys and Dean Spivey
