Match Reports - Week 3

Premier Division
Ducklington picked up their first 3 points of the season after a 3-2 win over the visiting Hanborough. However, due to injuries, they had to play the entire match with only 10 players. One of those 10; Tom Gregory, helped himself to a hat trick but a brace from Joey Burgess meant the hosts had to work hard until the final whistle for the points.

West Witney currently sit at the top of the table after a thrilling 3-2 win over Combe. Ethan Penny scored twice for the hosts, but goals from Mike Duerden and a brace from Ian Sparkes secured the points for the visitors.

Current Champions Carterton Town A went behind 2-0 to Minster Lovell and were still behind with 20 minutes to play, however they showed their quality in the final stages of the match and staged a thrilling comeback to win 4-2. Seb White (2) had put the hosts ahead, but the lead was overturned after goals from Jack Morton (2), Jason Trinder and Tommy Burns snatched the win for Carterton.

Dan Crossman, Mo Semlali and Mark Wright all scored in Hailey’s 3-1 win over Chipping Norton Town with Dan Bott pulling one back for the hosts.

Jamie Kennedy scored for Witney Royals as they went down 2-1 to Charlbury Town. Craig McCallum and Gareth Benfield notched the winning goals for the visitors.

Division One
Kirtlington remain top of Division One after a 3-1 win over FC Hollybush. Steve Holder scored for the hosts but a brace from Shane Probitts and a Nathan Kelly strike earned the points for the visitors.

Eynsham SSC earned a big 3 points against Division Two Champions, Stonesfield, in their first Division One game. Tom Green scored twice for the hosts but John Ayres (2), was again on target with Ryan Stockford getting the third.

Joey Aust scored a hat trick in North Leigh’s 6-1 win over Brize Norton. Lewis Dewe (2) and Michael Pratley got the others with Paul Morrison netting for the hosts.

Spartan Rangers edged to a narrow 3-2 win over Carterton Rangers with Dave Cross (2) and Frank Clarke getting the winning goals. Ben Pearce and Dan Hall scored for the hosts.

Charlie White scored all four of Chadlington’s goals in their 4-1 win over Hailey Reserves, for whom Sam Wright scored.

Division Two
Stu Morrison scored the only goal of the game in Witney Wanderers 1-0 win over Hanborough Reserves. A win, which keeps Wanderers top.

Lee Litton and Olly Bush each scored a hat trick in Carterton Town B’s 6-1 win over Ducklington Reserves. Scott Mason scored Duck’s consolation.

Steve Bircher (2), Josh Truby, Nick Brown and an own goal all contributed towards FC Nomads 5-1 win over Chipping Norton Town Reserves. Michael Roberts’ goal was the lone reply for Chippy who could have gone down by a lot more were it not for some great keeping by Dom Rickard.

Spartan Rangers Reserves edged a narrow win over Minster Lovell Reserves beating them 3-2. James Hector and Kieron Fallon were on target for the hosts but goals from Charlie Harper, Ben Hardcastle and Joel Spalding settled the tie in favour of the visitors.

Division Three
Tower Hill continued their good start to the season with a 6-1 thrashing of Bourton Rovers Reserves. Luke Bolley smashed in four goals with Will Hayes and Leigh Smith adding.
Dan Smith scored Bourton’s lone reply.

Jordan Anderson scored a hat trick in Corinthians 5-2 win over Bampton United Reserves. Will Brown and Luke Cutherbert also scored a goal a piece in the comfortable win which keeps them in second place.

Olie Page helped himself to a 5-goal haul during Eynsham A’s 7-1 win over Witney Royals Reserves. Tyler Walker and Zac Sheffield scored the others as Sow Elass bundled home Royals consolation goal.

Paul Biggam scored for Wootton as they went down 3-1 to Wychwood Forest. The visitors took control of the game early on through Ashley Davies and then secured the win with further goals from Darren Davenport and John Wood.

Division Four
The points were shared at Cote Road where Aston Reserves drew 3-3 with Stonesfield Reserves. Reece Waine, Rory Dunseath and Sam Murphy were all on target for the hosts as Robert McCellant (2) and Josh Page found the back of the net for the visitors.

Jordan Godfrey scored all four goals for the hosts as Chadlington Reserves beat Brize Norton Rserves 4-2. Matt Parsloe and Jamie Stubbs replied in vain for Brize.

Goals from Steve Fitzgerald (2) and Daryl Porter helped to edge a 3-2 win for Charlbury Reserves over Combe Reserves with Jake Potter and Leon Richards netting for the defeated visitors.

Kingham All Blacks Reserves edged a close match by the odd goal in 7 after beating Eynsham SSC Reserves 4-3. In a full-bloodied tie, the goals were shared around with Liam Barnes, Robert Acock, Dale Norris and John Willoughby all finding the back of the net for the hosts with Shaun Rowbotham, Darren Mobey and Andrew Tate all netting for Eynsham.

FC Hollybush Reserves picked up their first win of the season in a 4-2 win over Milton Reserves. Veteran Arron Hyatt banged in a hat trick with Ben Reynolds also hitting home for the Bush as Paul Townsend and Dan Hooton each scored for the vanquished hosts.

Wychwood Forest Reserves went down 3-2 to Wootton Reserves. Jay Whelan and Billy Baines both scored for Wychwood but goals from John Potts (2) and Jack Pease settled the tie in Wooton’s favour.

Fred Ford Cup - 1st Round
Moreton Rangers swept aside Enstone 7-1 in the Fred Ford Cup. Jack Robson and Jame Woom both bagged a brace with Zac Ellis, Gary Locker and David Toon getting the others. Gordon Knight replied for the hosts.

Rob DeBanks scored for hosts FC Mills as they went down 3-1 to Milton. Pip Benfield (2) and Jim Littlewood netting the winning goals.

Dean Mays, Sam Bowers, Darren Tasker and James Scott all scored in Tower Hill Stars 4-0 win over Bampton United.

Both Middle Barton and Kingham AB Reserves had two men sent off after a mid-match fracas, during their 2-2 draw. Josh Hunt scored twice for the hosts, but neither of the sets of remaining 9 players could find the winner. The match went ot penalties with Middle Barton holding their nerve to win 4-3.
