John Fathers Junior Shield – Round Two
Minster Lovell made light work of their Junior Shield opponents AFC Banbury, despatching the hosts 10-0. Craig Sallis and Edd Dunne each grabbed a hat trick in the match as Charloe McCulloch, Luke French and Martin Bull scored the others.

North Leigh A also had an easy time against Great Milton. The visiting Witney & District side found the back of the net through Lee Moseley (2), Tom Radburn, Joey Aust, Lewis Hathaway, Michael Pratley and an own goal.

Wychwood Forest knocked out another W&D side a division above 5-4 with Witney Wanderers on the receiving end. Tom Cairns (2), Mark Burgess, Callum Kirk and an own goal was just enough to go through to the next round. Goals from Andrew Thompson (2), Stu Morrison and Ben Border making the score line a little closer.

It wasn’t such good news for Tower Hill, who went down 5-2 to Ashton Villa. Will Hayes and Alistair Few netting the goals for the visitors. Kingham All Black were also unlucky, taking their opponents, Banbury Sports to extra time. It was 3-3 after 90 minutes but the hosts still edged through.

Chipping Norton Town’s hopes for a run in this cup are also over as they were thrashed, 8-0 by KEA, also from the Banbury & District League.

Fred Ford Cup – Third Round
Two Fred Ford Third Round matches were also played this weekend; Carterton Rangers from Division One, played host to Premier Side Bourton Rovers and more than held their own, going down 3-2 after 90 minutes. Jamie McDonough scored both for Rangers with Connor Teague, Kevin Hunt and Dan Smith scoring for Bourton.

Current Premier Division leaders, West Witney had an easier time against Ducklington beating them 4-0. Dave Craig and Karl Dodds both added to a brace scored by Michael Duerden, who was later sent off for two bookable offences.

Premier Division
There were only two games in the Premier Division this week, but both were significant at either end of the table. Towards the top, Hanborough beat current Champions, Carterton Town A 4-0 to leapfrog them into second place. Goal machine Joey Burgess netted another two with Rob Keylock and Paul Rose also getting on the score sheet.

At the foot of the table, Witney Royals went down 4-0 to Charlbury Town with Marke Goode (2), Joseph Brooke and Duncan Fitzgerald all scoring.

Division One
It was honours even in the first proverbial ‘6-pointer’ between Division One’s front runners as leaders Kirtlington were held to a 2-2 draw away to second placed Eynsham SSC. John Ayres and Matt Walker found the back of the net for the hosts with Nathan Kelly and Shane Probitts scoring for Kirtlington.

Spartan Rangers, in third gained ground on the leaders after a 4-0 win over Hailey Reserves. Dave Cross bagged a brace with Harry Tomson and Charlie Waite getting the others.

A Reece Waine brace and a strike from Dan Molony secured all three points for Aston in a 3-1 win over FC Hollybush for whom Steve Holder scored.

Chadlington overtook Hollybush in the middle of the table after a 7-1 thrashing of Brize Norton. The hosts only consolation on the day was a Pawel Bronk strike.

Division Two
Neither second placed Bampton United nor Spartan Rangers Reserves were able to break the deadlock as they both held on for a keeper-pleasing 0-0 draw.

Carterton Town B capitalised on that draw and increased their lead to at the top to 8 points after a 4-0 win over Chipping Norton Town Reserves. Adam Harris led the way with a hat-trick added to by Lee Manley’s goal.

Moreton Rangers cruised to a comfortable 6-0 win over Hanborough Reserves with Callum Peters picking up a four-goal haul. Alfie Wilson and an own goal completed the tally.

Ducklington Reserves Jack Holifield and FC Nomad’s Chris Laurence each bagged a hat–trick as their sides faced off, however it was the visiting Nomads who found the extra goal to snatch the 4-3 win. Steve Bircher’s goal making the difference. Ducklington battled well but still remain pointless at the bottom of Division Two.

Division Three
Eynsham A maintained their 4 point lead at the top of the Division but only just after a narrow 2-1 win over Corinthians. Dan Smith scored for the visitors but goals from Oli Page and Jordan Lyne settled the tie in favour of the hosts.

FC Mills put in arguably their performance of the season and were unlucky to go down 3-1 to high-flying Tower Hill Stars. Jamie Flemming scored for the hosts who battled hard, but Kevin Davies, Lee Travers and Darren Tasker all stepped up to register for the visitors, earning them the win.

Mikey Piper scored a hat-trick in Witney Royals 9-0 win over an 8-man Bampton United Reserves. The visitors created chances, but inevitably suffered from the lack of bodies as Royals raced to an unassailable lead. Dave Elliot netted a brace, with Martin Edwards, Andy Partlett and Keiron Colwell all scoring. However, the pick of the bunch was Josh Taylors 40-yars effort which hit the back of the net via the underside of the crossbar.

John Umney, Jack Fowler, Tony Bott and Ashley Stevens all scored in Middle Barton’s 4-0 win over Enstone.

Jon Holder scored a four-timer as Wootton smashed Bourton Rovers Reserves 8-1. Graham Berry, Rob Alexander and James Cox also netted. Thom Green scored the consolation for Bourton.

Division Four
At was ‘as you were’ at the top of Division Four this weekend with the top sides, all picking up maximum points. Leaders Charlbury Town Reserves earned theirs after a 3-0 win over Kingham AB Reserves. Marco Papa scored twice with Daryl Potter adding.

FC Hollybush Reserves secured their points with a 2-1 win over Wootton Reserves. Arron Hyatt and Dan Knight stepped up with goals for the hosts with Karl Gustha replying for Wootton.

Steve Jenkins scored twice for Spartan Rangers A but ended up losing 4-2 to a resolute Aston Reserves side. Charlie Fisher (2), Sam Murphy and Aidy Kew all got on the score sheet.

The goals were shared out equally for the hosts as Stonesfield Reserves beat Eynsham SSC Reserves 6-2. Chris Jordan, Josh Page, Connor Ladbrooke, Jake Davies and Dave Birtle all had a share of the spoils. Darren Mobey was a little greedier for the vanquished Eynsham, netting both of his sides goals.

Charlie Ibbotson was ruthless in front of goal in Combe Reserves 8-1 win over Wychwood Forest Reserves, scoring four of his sides goal. Simon Gale grabbed a hat-trick with Ben Molyneux getting the others. Jason Bufton scored the consolation for Forest who remain still without a point; rooted to the foot of the table.
