Witney & District Football Results for Saturday 11th October 2014

Fred Ford Cup – Round 2
There were no surprises in the match between Carterton Town A and Corinthians with the Premier hosts completing an 8-0 mauling visitors from Division Three. Mike Duerden bagged a hat trick with Mike Bolt (2), Jason Lonsdale (2) and Jason Trinder getting the others.

Another Premier side Charlbury Town managed to go one better when visiting Division Two side FC Mills, picking up a 9-0 win. Tristan Lang, Craig McCallum, Tony Bott and Shaun Gilbert each bagged a brace with Marke Goode also finding the back of the net.

Hailey gave Division Four Champions, Tower Hill a rare taste of defeat when delivering a 9-0 thrashing to the hosts. Goal machine, Joey King bagged a four goal haul with Luke Manning picking up a hat trick. Dean Mays and Jack Bennett got the other two for the Premier side with Ian Wright scoring Tower Hill’s lone reply.

Current Premier Division Champions West Witney enjoyed a break top their hit and miss start to their league campaign as they beat Division Two side Kirtlington 9-1. Chris Hirons scored a hat trick as Wayne Moscrop (2), Craig Mays, Ian Sparkes and Nick Rose also got in on the act. John Omole scored Kirtlington’s only goal.

Brize Norton are through to the next round after overcoming fellow Premier strugglers, Minster Lovell. Pavel Bronk scored twice with John White getting the other.

It was an all Division One clash as Aston faced North Leigh, with the visitors emerging with a 3-1 victory. Benji Sunblad scored for the hosts but Craig Horne, Justin Timms and Lee Moseley were on target for North Leigh.

Luke Rhodes and Jordan Godfrey were on target for Chadlington in their 2-0 win over FC Nomads.

Adrew Macabe scored twice in Chipping Norton Town’s 4-2 win over Hanborough. Rhys Warner-Carter and Warwick Thompkins scored the others as Neil Rose bagged a brace for the visitors.

Jamie Austin (2) was on target as Ducklington saw off Kingham 3-0. Ian Peedell grabbed the other.

John Ayres scored for hosts Eynsham SSC as they were despatched from the cup by Stonesfield in a 4-1 defeat. Mike Phipps, Tom Green, James Clarke and George Redknapp all found the back of the net for the visitors.

FC Hollybush were knocked out 3-0 by Bourton Rovers. Sam Mattock struck twice with Callum Trott getting the other.

Witney Wanderers are through courtesy of a 5-2 win over Bampton United. Tom Gregory scored a hat trick with Sam king and Stu Morrison getting the other two.

Division Two
Carterton Town B opened up a 3 point lead at the top of Division Two after a 3-1 win over Hanborough. Olly Bush scored twice with Dan Sollis getting the others. Tom Kernaham netted for the vanquished hosts.

Ducklington leapfrogged Milton into third place after inflicting a 4-1 defeat on their hosts. Scott Mason scored a hat trick as Stu Cutts bagged the fourth. Rob Watts hit Milton’s lone reply.

Division Three
Despite only having three games in Division Three this weekend, the 6 ides managed to rack up an impressive 30 goals! Setting the weekends record was Witney Royals Reserves and Chipping Norton Town Reserves who played out a 6-6 draw. Each side shared the lead in the first half with Chippy taking a 3-2 lead early in the second. Royals then took a 6-3 lead thanks to a Max Lucas, who completed a hat trick. However a crazy last 10 minutes saw the visitors pull level with goals from Matt Chadwick (2), Shaun Kemp (2), Jarvis Morley and Conner Ladbrookes. Mikey Piper (2) and Luke Rippington scored the others for Royals.

Ducklington A move to the top of the table courtesy of a 6-3 win over Minster Lovell Reserves. Yassin Elouhabi scored twice with Jack Scott also grabbing a brace. Dan Bullock and Lewis Bartlett got the others. Cody Davies (2) and Charlie McCulloch replied in vain for Minster.

Brize Norton Reserves were on the wrong end of an 8-1 thrashing by visitors Spartan Rangers Reserves. David Cross picked up a four-goal haul with Omat Semlali (2), Nick Angus and Charlie Harper getting the others. Tomi Bradley’s goal for Brize was all they had to show for their afternoon.

Division Four
Tower Hill Reserves continued their excellent start to the season with a 7-0 win over Aston Reserves. Richard Meredith (2), Adam Townsend (2), Justin Keyani and Ashley Overton were amongst the scorers with an own goal completing the rout.

Eynsham A stay in second and retain local bragging rights as they thumped a struggling Eynsham SSC Reserves 6-0. Oliver Page (2), Oliver Hinchcliffe, Jordan Lyne, Declan Green and Sam Roane were all on the score sheet.

Charlbury Town Reserves completed a 4-1 win over Milton Reserves. Mike Thompson, Gary Jones, Jacob Hancock and an own goal were more than enough to secure all three points with Paul Townsend pulling one back for the visitors.

Spartan Rangers A narrowly beat Wootton Reserves 3-2. A Chris Blayney brace settled the tie with Tom Merchant getting the other.
