John Fathers Junior Shield Final
Charlbury 2 v 3 Carterton Rangers After seeing their Division Two promotion hopes disappear earlier in the day, Carterton Rangers consoled themselves in dramatic fashion, by winning the John Fathers Junior Shield 3-2 against Premier Side, Charlbury Town.

Rangers, who leave a trail of teams from higher divisions in their path took the lead through Billy Hales in the first half and took the lead into the break. However, within 5 minutes of the restart, Charlbury’s Craig McCallum twice was on target to overturn the deficit and put Charlbury ahead.

Rangers’ Lee Keys then had the chance to level the tie but missed an open goal from 4 yards after rounding the keeper. However, James Barker came to the rescue minutes later after firing the ball through a crowd of players and to cap the dream comeback, Chris Balfe hit a rocket from the outside of the box later into the second half to secure the win and lift the Shield.

Senior Cup Quarter Final
Ian Sparkes scored a hat trick for the Premier Division winners in their 6-3 win over Aston. Warren Austin 2 and an own goal made up the rest with Ryan Hewer netting all three for Aston.

Supplementary Cup Quarter Final
Jason King and Dave Duggan each bagged a brace as Spartan Rangers Reserves beat Minster Lovell Reserves 5-2 to progress to the semi finals. Luke Petifer grabbed the other with Nathan Bowles and Lewis Dew replying for Minster.

Division One
With Brize Norton having finished their campaign and moving to top spot last week; it was up to Hailey Reserves to keep the pressure on the leaders. They did this with a 3-2 win over Kingham. Dom Hemmings scored both for Kingham but Kristian Collis scored twice with Steve Holder getting the other ensuring the title will be decided in Hailey’s last game against fellow promotion challengers Bourton Rovers.

Bourton’s promotion aspirations were ended by a resurgent Carterton Pumas side, who in defeating their hosts 3-2 secured promotion for themselves. Pumas’ along with Brize Norton will both be playing in the Premier Division next season regardless of the remaining Hailey Result.

They were made to work for their 3 points though with Matt Willis netting twice for Bourton. However goals from Darren Davenport, Wes Christian and Steve Harris secured the win and promotion for Pumas.

At the other end of the table, it was more bad news for Hanborough Reserves as they went down 4-2 to North Leigh A. Scott Akers and Martin Keylock scored for Boro but goals from Dan Golby (2), Lewis Hathaway and Josh Russell secured the win for North Leigh.

Division Two
FC Hollybush will be joining newly crowned Division Two Champions Combe in Division One next season after inflicting only their second defeat of the season. The 4-2 win guarantees Hollybush promotion to Division One at the expense of third placed Carterton Rangers. Ethan Penny and Joe Beahan scored for Combe but two goals from Joe Hatt and strikes from Ally Laing and Kevin Davies secured the second successive promotion for Hollybush.

Marcello Guitherme picked up a five goal haul in Witney Wanderers 11-2 thrashing of Finstock. To their credit, the visitors played with 10-men and a clutch of injuries and gave a good account of themselves where possible. However, the extra man was evident as Bernie Crumlish (2), Stu Morisson, Daryl John and Gary Atkinson all found the back of the net.

Ducklington Reserves ended their campaign with a 4-0 loss at the hands of Milton.

Division Three
The race for the Division Three title is still on a knife edge as Carterton Town B are now just a point away from securing the crown. They edged 3 points closer after a 5-0 win over Middle Barton. Ollie Bush scored a hat trick with Adam Harris and Craig Isle getting the others.

The pressure was eased slightly as second placed Wootton went down 4-1 to Bampton United. Charlie Bough scored for the hosts but goals from Jordan Day, Cono O’Shea, Sid Ashley and Nathan Beckett turned the tie on its head. The result means now that only Spartan Rangers Reserves are able to catch Carterton at the top.

Division Four
In Division Four, Wychwood Forest picked up a 4-1 win over Spartan Rangers A. Callum Kirk scored twice with Ben Powell and Paul Townsend also finding the back of the net. John Oswald scored Spartan’s only goal.
