Match Reports - Week 27

Junior Shield
Hailey edged through to the next round of the Junior Shield after a 3-2 win over ABBA. Jacob Hambidge scored a brace with Hailey Keeper, Danny Rayfield also finding the back of the net for the hosts, after his clearance via a fortunate deflection, ended up in the oppositions goal.

Premier Division
Aston and Carterton Town A took a share of the points after they drew 1-1. Joe Hewer scored for Aston with Jason Lonsdale finding the back of the net for the visitors.

Hanborough and West Witney also had to settle for a point each after drawing 2-2.

Witney Royals pulled away from the drop zone, landing their opponents Chadlington in it after defeating them 3-1. George Slatter scored for the hosts but goals from Stewart George, Luke Rippington and Lee Beer settled the tie.

Minster went down 4-1 to Charlbury with Paul Wiggins goal for the hosts their only consolation. The hosts remain rooted to the foot of the table and look set for the drop unless they experience a dramatic change of fortune in their remaining games.

Division One
Promotion chasing Bourton Rovers beat 10-man Freeland 6-0. Josh Catling (2), David Gainford, Sam Mattock, Stephen Ternier and Phil Colmer all contributed to the win.

Brize Norton and Spartan Rangers drew 2-2 on a very boggy pitch. Bartek Lachowicz and Oliver Hawkins scored for the hosts with Henry Clarke and Josh Grant replying for Spartan.

Carterton Pumas went down 3-1 to FC Nomads after goals from Chris Lawrence, Darren Craig and James Hookins. Matt Willis replied for Pumas.

North Leigh A and Eynsham SSC took a point each near the foot of the table with Tom Radburn and John Ayres scoring for North Leigh and Eynsham respectively.

The match between division Two leaders Hailey Reserves and Kingham was abandoned after youngster Callum Mutch suffered a badly broken leg.

Division Two
Carterton Rangers continued their resurgence and promotion push with an important 3-2 win over Kirtlington. Sam Bodinham and Alex Metcalfe scored for the hosts but goals from Ben Pearce, Adam Lee and Lee Keys edged the tie in Rangers favour.

Hollybush haven’t given up on promotion and are hot on the heels of Rangers after a 4-1 win over Milton. Eddie Brookes scored twice with Ben Reynolds and Milton old-boy Ally Laing also getting on the score sheet.

Witney Wanderers went down 3-1 to Ducklington Reserves. Stu Morrison scored for the hosts but goals from Damon Tolley, Jack Morton and Jason Hirschfield ensured Duck took all three points.

Finstock picked up all three points courtesy of a 3-0 win over Witney Royals Reserves. Lee Travers scored twice with Barry Graves adding the other.

Division Three
At the bottom, Ducklington A gave themselves a lifeline in their battle against the drop after a convincing 3-0 win over Brize Norton Reserves. Antony Lune, Dave Baker and Gary O'Donovan with the goals.

Kingham Reserves went down 9-0 to Bampton United.

Carterton Town B remain 9 points clear at the top of Division Three after a 4-2 win over Middle Barton. Charlie Yeomans and Martin Kay scored for the hosts but goals from John Smalles, Dan Sollis, Chris Jones and Adam Harris keep Town ahead at the top of the Division.

Spartan Rangers Reserves stay on second place after a 2-1 win over Charlbury Town Reserves. Jason King and Ben Allen scored for Spartan with Jake Godfrey netting for the visitors.

Wootton and Chipping Norton Town Reserves had to settle for a share of the spoils after a 0-0 draw.

Division Four
It was a whitewash at West Witney as Tower Hill smashed in eleven past Wootton Reserves in an 11-0 win. Jesse Lawrence banged in a four-timer with the rest being shared amongst Adam Bolley, Luke James, Jamie Goodwin, James Minion Jack Simpson and Connor Tinsley. The result means Tower Hill are almost certain to be playing in Division Three next season with a win in their next match seeing them promoted as Champions.

Corinthians look favourite to join them in Division Three as they saw off Spartan Rangers A 5-1. Frank Webb scored twice with Mark Henderson, Alex Marsden and Dan Smith also netting. Henry Macke scored the consolation for Spartan.

Eynsham SSC Reserves are a way off the promotion pace, but remain in third after a 7-1 win over Chadlington Reserves. Darren Mobey and Kev Webb each bagged a brace with John Griffiths, Dan Johnson and Shaun Rowbotham getting the others. Lee Woodward replied for Chadlington.

Kevin Davis scored a hat trick in FC Hollybush Reserves’ 6-1 win over Milton Reserves. Doug Mulvihill, Dean Spivey and Arron Hyatt scored the others after Sam Forster had given the visitors the lead.

The points were shared at Bampton as Bampton United Reserves drew 4-4 with Wychwood Forest. Tom Madden scored a hat trick for the hosts with Dan Paintin getting the other as Tim Jacobs (2), Neil Mustoe and Ben Powell replied for Wychwood.
