The Witney & District fixture list recovered again this weekend with only a handfull of games falling foul to the weather.

Supplementary Cup - 2nd Round
A strong FC Hollybush Reserves side from Division Four, despatched Bourton Rovers Reserves 9-1 in their Supplementary Cup Second Round game. Dave Cooper lead the scoring with a superb 5-goal-haul; complemented by a brace from Kevin Davies. Jorge Granja finished the scoring after Mark Hamilton popped up with a rare strike.

Premier Division
Chipping Norton Town displayed their title credentials with a 5-3 win over Carterton Town A. The goal were shared equally amongst Rhys-Warner-Carter, Reece Bayliss, Gary Smith, Mark Corbett and Warwick Thompkins. Jack Mills (2) and Lee Moseley got on the score sheet for Town.

With 2 games in hand and only 2 points behind the leaders; West Witney find themselves within striking distance of top spot after a 4-1 win over Charlbury Town. Craig McCallum scored for the hosts but goals from Karl Dodds, Wayne Moscrop Dave Craig and Carl Williams settled the tie.

Ducklington are just a couple of points of the pace after their 4-1 win over Witney Royals. Jack Morton scored all four goals for the visitors with Gary Nicholson finding the back of the net for the hosts.

Hailey moved into fourth place after a 2-0 win over Hanborough, courtesy of goals from Luke Manning and Harvey Butler.

Division One
Division One leaders Hailey Reserves dropped two valuable points after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Carterton Pumas. Steve Holder scored for the hosts with Ryan Jones levelling the tie for Pumas.

Hailey’s slip means that Bourton Rovers are well-placed, just 4 points behind with two games in hand after they despatched North Leigh 6-0. Sam Mattock (2), Craig Gilson, Phil Colmer, Matt Winter and Silus Orr all scored in a fine team performance.

Brize Norton are hot on the heels of the top two after a 3-0 win over Freeland. Pawel Bronk (2) and Oliver Hawkins both scored.

Hanborough Reserves remain rooted to the foot of the table after going down 2-0 to FC Nomads. Steve Bircher and an own goal contributed to Boro’s fate.

The points were shared at Kingham where the hosts drew 1-1 with Spartan Rangers. Gareth Price and Josh Grant scored respectively.

Division Two
Combe closed the gap on Kirtlington to just a single point at the top of Division Two. Roger Moss, P Searle, S Hibbard and Simon Baker all scored in their sides 4-0 win over Witney Wanderers. Combe however, have 3 games in hand on the current leaders.

Josh Hartley, Aidan Ford and Brad Olive all scored in Ducklington Reserves’ 3-1 win over Bampton Town. Tom Coppinger pulled one back for Bampton.

Ashley Overton scored a hat trick in Finstock’s 4-0 win over FC Mills. Lee Travers scored the fourth.

Division Three
Spartan Rangers Reserves showed no mercy for an understrength Kingham Reserves as they smashed in eighteen past the hapless visitors. Jason King was the star man banging in a double hat trick. Paul Saunders and Ben Hardcastle added to the rout, each picking up a hat trick themselves. Steve Wright (2), Joel Spalding, Rob Marchbank, Neal Jackson and Charlie Harper all found themselves on the score sheet to complete the demolition.

Carterton Town B increased their lead at the top of Division Three after a convincing 6-0 win over Brize Norton Reserves. John Smales, and Craig Isle each bagged a brace with Lee Linton and Dan Sollis getting the others.

A single goal from Lee Haynes secured all three points for Middle Barton in their 1-0 mid-table win over Chipping Norton Town Reserves.

Wootton increased Ducklington A’s relegation worries after handing out a 4-0 mauling to the visitors. Charlie Bough (2), Mark Rawlings and Graham Berry were all on target in the win.

Division Four
Tower Hill increased their lead at the top of Division Four to five points after a 4-0 defeat of Chadlington Reserves. Conor Tinsley, Joe Brown, Ian Wright and Jamie Goodwin all scored in the win.

Spartan Rangers A contributed to Tower Hills lead after defeating second placed Corinthians 3-2. Martin Edwards, Tom Merchant and Henry Macke scored the goals for the hosts as Frank Webb and Dan Smith replied for the visitors.

Eynsham SSC Reserves moved into third courtesy of a 2-1 win over Milton. Lee Parsons and Kev Webb were on target for the hosts with Pip Benfield notching for Milton.
