The draw enabled Combe; in third to make ground on the leaders after a narrow 1-0 win over now-bottom side Aston. The hosts took all tree points but were made to work for them by a dogged Aston side. Ethan Penney scored the all-important goal.

Eynsham SSC took advantage of Aston’s loss to move off the bottom of the Division courtesy of a 7-2 win over Kingham. Matt Walker hit four goals in the win with John Ayres netting a hat trick. Gareth Price scored twice for the vanquished visitors.

The points were shared at Bampton where hosts FC Nomads drew 2-2 with North Leigh. Chris Lawrence was yet again on target for Nomads with Josh Truby adding. However each side took a share of the spoils as a Justin Timms brace levelled the score line.

Fred Ford Cup – Third Round
In the Fred Ford Cup, it took penalties to separate hosts Brize Norton and visitors Ducklington after they drew 3-3 at full time. Ducklington took the lead through Josh Hartley and Kevin Davies with Jack Morton adding the third; but Brize; who played the whole match with a bare eleven players fought with goals from Robb Hook, Shaun Rawlings and Jon White. Ducklington Reserves of Division Two were made to work for their place in the second round after narrowly beating Witney Royals Reserves 2-1 after extra time. The visitors, from the lower reaches of Division Three, took an early lead through Mikey Piper and despite constant pressure from the hosts, the score line remained the same for most of the match due to some heroics in the Royals goal from keeper, Paul Hatley. However, with 5 minutes remaining and after going down to 10-men through injury; the Royals defence was cracked and spirits broken when Perry Tinson finally made the most of one of Duck’s many chances to fire home. Tinson grabbed his second early in extra time to secured the hosts seat in the next round.

Steve Hunt scored twice for Division Fours’ Chadlington Reserves but ended up on the losing side as the hosts went down 3-2 to Chipping Norton Town Reserves from Division Three. Matt Smith, Chris Mason and Sam Philpott scored the winning goals.

Scott Brown’s goal for Tower Hill Reserves was enough to secure a 1-0 win over Hollybush Reserves and send the visitors through to the second round.

Dan Sollis scored twice in Carterton Town B’s 3-1 win over Hanborough Reserves. Adam Hamp scored for Boro’ but Sollis’ brace and another strike from Olly Bush was enough to send Town through to the next round.

Brize Norton Reserves were clear winners in their 4-1 win over Kingham Reserves. Ciaran Clarke, Ben Burton, Scott Peaper and Rob Brown all found the back of the net in the win, with Francis Overton-Eccles replying in vain for the hosts.

Josh Grant and Dave Cross each bagged a brace as Spartan Rangers Reserves thumped Bampton Town Reserves 7-1. Pete Jenkins, Neil Jackson and Martin Ferera also hit the back of the net in the win with Tom Madden’s goal for Bampton proving scant consolation.
