Match Reports - Week 10

Premier Division
In the days only Premier Division game, hosts Minster Lovell drew 1-1 with Hanborough. Goals from Sebastian White and Neil Rose earned a point for each side respectively.

Division One
Two goals from Dave Cooper helped to hand FC Hollybush a 3-1 win over Hailey Reserves. Rob Styles scored for the hosts but Dan Hedges added one more for Hollybush to secure the points.

Chadlington picked up all three points courtesy of a 3-0 win over Aston. Steven Hunt (2) and Jordan Godfrey’s goals being the difference.

Division Two
Carterton Town B opened up a 2 point lead at the top of Division Two after defeating FC Mills 4-1. Olly Bush and Dan Sollis each bagged a brace in the win as Perry Letton scored the consolation for visitors, Mills.

Second place Milton slipped up in the chase to catch leaders Carterton as they were held to a 3-3 draw by relegation threatened Hanborough Reserves. Milton took a 3-1 half time lead through Jake Forster (2) and Matt Packham but a second half revival from Boro’ saw Adam Hamp (2) and Chris Leach level the score line, earning Hanborough’s first point of the season.

Ducklington Reserves drop to fourth place after going down 2-1 to Kirtlington. Kirtlington moved to just 3 points behind their hosts after goals from Bruce Wilson and Shane Probitts secured the win. Scott Mason got the goal for Duck.

Jack Henry, Ben Liddle and Conor O’Shea each netted a double in Bampton United’s 6-1 win over hosts Enstone for whom Cory Harry scored.

Division Three
Ducklington A now lead Division Three by a clear 8 points after a 4-2 win over Wootton. Jamie Fisher scored twice for the hosts but the Ducklington’s sealed the win with goals from Oscar Summers, Luke Bolley, Jamie Harris and Shay Cowin.

Tower Hills slump continued as they went down 2-1 to Minster Lovell. The hosts, who have now racked up 5 defeats in a row, scored through Jamie Goodwin, but goals from Charlie Mcullock and Mike Ryan settled the tie.

Pawel Bronk scored a hat trick for Brize Norton Reserves as they beat Middle Barton 6-2. The sides were drawing 2-2 with 20 minutes left to play when Brize found shifted up a couple of gears. Paul Winch, Jason Hirschfield and Paul Morrison got the others with Paul Kay netting twice for Middle Barton.

Division Four
Tower Hill Reserves continued their excellent 100% start to the season after a narrow 3-2 win over Milton Reserves. Dan Hootton and Stephen Pearce scored for the home side, but Will Graham (2) and Andy Jackson ensured that the visitors took all 3 points and maintained their 6-point lead at the top of Division Four.

Spartan Rangers A lost ground on the leaders as they were held to a 3-3 draw by Wychwood Forest. Chris Blayney, James Macke and Paul Saunders were all on target for the hosts, but goals from Kevin Wisher (2) and Ry Clements brought parity to the score line.

The points were also shared at Buckland Road where Aston Reserves drew 5-5 with Wootton Reserves in a thrilling tie. Matt Jameson scored a hat trick for Aston with Dan Isherwood and Dave Cooper adding but Wootton came from 4-1 down to earn a share of the spoils with goals from Ryan Royal, Fraser Scott, John Holder, Sam Benwell and Jason Ludlow.

Charlbury Reserves beat Bampton United 6-1 with goals from Mike Thompson (2), Mark Clements (2), Darryl Potter and Jacob Hancock. Dan Paintin’s goal was Bampton’s only consolation.

Tom Hemsworth, James Adams, Graham Harrison, Rory Shadbolt and Matt North all found the back of the net as Chadlington Reserves picked up a fine 5-1 win over Kingham Reserves. Ryan Bolger scored for the hosts.

FC Hollybush Reserves’ poor form continued and are still rooted to the foot of the table after a 7-1 thrashing at the hands of Eynsham SSC Reserves. Dan Harwood scored a hat trick for the hosts with Alex Timms, Lee Parsons, Jamie Hewitt and Graham Ciudiskis all adding. Darren Astons goal for the hosts was mere consolation.

Fred Ford Cup – Round Three
West Witney eased through to the Quarter Final after a 5-0 win over North Leigh. The goals were shared amongst Tony McLeman, Karl Dodds, Matty Knibbs, Will Smaldon and Danny King.

Chipping Norton Town could meet West Witney in the draw as they saw off Charlbury 4-1. Duncan Fitzgerald scored for the hosts but a Warwick Thompkins hat trick and a strike from Mark Corbett settled the tie.

Hailey saw off Combe 2-1 to earn their place in the Quarter Final. Goal machine, Luke Manning and Jason Blackman were both on target for Hailey with Chris Betreen scoring for the hosts.

After a closely fought match, Spartan Rangers edged through against Witney Wanderers, 4-3. Matt Howard banged in a hat trick for Spartan with Frank Clarke grabbing the other. James Bason (2) and Tom Gregory netted for Wanderers, but it was not quite enough.

Stonesfield saw off Bourton 3-1 with goals from Tom Green, Matthew Tarry and Paul Penney. Callum Trott replied for Bourton.

Oxfordshire Junior Shield
Junior Shield Holders, Carterton Rangers made sure of their passage to the next round of the Junior Shield for a second time after beating Eynsham SSC 7-2. The match, a replay, due to a serious injury in the first match was highlighted by a Dan Hall four-timer. Billy Hales, Elliot Witt and Lee Keys all got on the score sheet with John Griffiths and John Ayres replying for the hosts.

Chris Lawrence smashed in a 5-timer for FC Nomads as they knocked out Kingham 7-2. Dave Pryse also bagged a brace in the win.

Ducklington are also through toe the next round after a 6-0 walk over of Bodicote. Josh Hartley (2), George Townsend, Dave Rabbich, Kevin Davies and Harry Cornforth all got on the score sheet.
