Witney & District Football Reports - Week 12

Jack Busby Memorial Trophy - Round Two
Division Three Witney Royals Reserves were blown away by Division Four Bletchington Reserves, going down 4-1 after only 10 minutes. The visitors were relentless and ran out eventual 8-4 winners with Michael Trafford bagging fie of the goals. Aaron Johnson, Toby Connelly and Mason Connelly scored the other, but only after Rob Debanks, with a big contribution from Mikey Piper, had helped himself to a hat trick for Royals. Corey Donohoe scored Royals fourth.

FC Ascot Reserves narrowly edged through to the next round of the cup after a 3-2 win over Bampton United Reserves. Jordan Ford and Kasper Adamowikz scored for the hosts but goals from Charlie Vickers, Jason Bufton and an excellent long range strike from Jason Hornsby saw the visitors through.

FC Hollybush Reserves also squeezed into the draw for the Quarter Finals after their saw off Carterton Town B 4-3. Kev Buckingham scored two with Dael Campbell and Steve Holder adding. Goals from Steve Harries (2) and Peter Okerke were not enough for Town.

Hailey Reserves were sent crashing out of the cup after a 3-1 defeat to Hanborough Reserves. Tom Jones scored for Hailey but goals from Mark Stinchcombe (2) and Matt Brown was enough to secure the result for Boro’.

Charlbury Town Reserves knocked out Spartan Rangers Reserves courtesy of a 4-2 away win. Michael Faulkner (2) Damien Corbin and Mark Clifton were on target with the telling goals as James Spindlow and Ryan Wastie’s goals fell short of equalising.

Minster Lovell and Aston Reserves will took their game to penalties after drawing 2-2 after extra time. 2-2. Craig Sallis was again on target with Luke Hessey getting Minster’s other with Matt Brown and Lewis Allman levelling things for Aston. Minster were on top from the spot however running out 4-1 winners in the shoot-out.

Fred Ford Cup 17-18 - Round Three
Combe ran out easy winners in a 5-1 rout over Bletchington. Ethan Penney scored twice with Ciaran Northwood, Leke Shodunke and Si Baker getting the others. Jake Godfrey scored the consolation for Bletch.

Tower Hill are in the draw for the next round after a tight 2-1 win over Bourton Rovers. Ian Wright and James Scott both found the back of the net for Tower Hill with Keelan Gilbert pulling one back for the visitors.

Oxfordshire Charity Cup – Quarter Final
Hanborough eased through to the semi-finals of the Oxfordshire Charity Cup after brushing aside Marston Saints 6-1. A Jack Morton hat trick was the highlight with Craig Johnson (2) and Can Haggie registering the rest.

Premier Division
FC Hollybush retained their 4-point lead at the top of the Premier Division after they defeated Chipping Norton Town 3-1. Mike Duerden, Dean Mays and Olly Oswin were all on the score sheet to secure the points with Rhys Warner-Carter pulling one back.

Kirtlington had no trouble picking up all three points in their 7-1 defeat of visiting 10-man Minster Lovell. Nathan Kelly scored three with Adam Kelly, Jake East, Ally Broome and Shane Probitts also notching. George Reynolds scored Minsters consolation.

Carterton Rangers were 4-0 winners at Spartan Rangers with Liam Day (2), Jamie MacDonogh and Jason Trinder all hitting the back of the net.

Steve Fitzgerald and Warwick Thompkins were on target for Charlbury Town as they were held to a 2-2 draw by lowly Hailey. Luke Manning and Nathan Kimber scored for the visitors.

Division One
Darren Tasker scored a hat trick in Tower Hill Stars 8-0 win over FC Nomads who played the whole match with just 9 players. Will Graham scored 2 on his return to the club with Will Smalldon, Adam Townsend and Tom Bennington all netting the others.

Witney Royals came from 2-0 down to record a 4-3 win at Chadlington. Jacob Hazelwood (2) and Matt Chadwick scored for the hosts but a brace Dave Cross and Liam Readhead each recorded doubles to snatch the win for Royals.

Division Two
Goals were scarce in Division Two as only a single goal was scored. Nathan Brookes goal for Kingham was enough for a 1-0 win over Witney Wanderers while Moreton Rangers and Middle Barton shared a point each after their 0-0 draw.

Division Three
FC Mills earned only their second point of the season after a 3-3 draw with Ducklington. Ady Kew, Samm Murphy and Matty Eagle were on target for the hosts but goals from Cody Davies, James Rogers and lee Senior bought parity to the score line and a point to either side.

The goals were also flowing at Chipping Norton where Chippy Reserves went down 8-1 to Combe Reserves. Simon Gale banged in a hat trick with Ian Law, Leon Richards both bagged a brace.

Siege FC ran out 6-2 winners in soggy conditions over visiting Wootton. Andy Makepeace (2), Danny Allsworth, Ben Reardon, Matt Mills and Karl Dodds were all on the score sheet.

Division Four
Wootton Reserves stay top of Division Four on goal difference after a convincing 7-0 mauling of Brize Norton Reserves. Mark Mumford scored a four-timer with Theo Flatman, Elliot Higgins and Will Gayton also finding the net.

Kingham All Blacks Reserves keep the pressure on Wootton after their 4-1 win over Chadlington Reserves. The goals were shared amongst Liam Barnes, Adrian Williams, Dan Alsworth and Chris Perrott. Kingham’s Tom Matthews also scored but unfortunately, ino the wrong net.

FC Ascott Rangers picked up their first points of the season with a 5-3 win over fellow strugglers Siege FC Reserves. Brandon Laing scored twice with Kyle Grimmet, Tom May and Alex Everitt getting the others. Darrell Steele and Josh Asbrey were amongst the scorers for the visitors.

Eynsham SSC Reserves went down 6-1 to Stonesfield Reserves with Liam Harris (2) Shaun Kemp, Peter Searle, Daniel Thomas and Bruce Wilson contributing to the rout.
