John Fathers Oxfordshire Junior Shield 17-18 - 1st Round

In what is undoubtedly the biggest cup shock in recent times, FC Mills of Division Three, dumped last seasons semi-finalists and Premier Division stalwarts Carterton Town A out of the John Fathers Junior Shield. FC Mills nearly called the game off in the week due to a lack of fit players, but eventually managed to cobble together a side. It was that side who came from behind to beat an out of sorts Carterton Town 3-2.

Man of the match James Rogers hit the back of the net twice for Mills with Dan Hedges getting the other. Carterton piled on the pressure throughout the match and scored with goals from Billy Evans and Ben Liddle but despite an onslaught of the Mils goal for the last 15 minutes they couldn’t find the leveller.

Bletchington will be joining Mills in the draw for the next round after they saw off aside Wootton 7-3 in an end to end match. Credit was given to both side and the referee in a thoroughly enthralling game which was poised 3-3 after 90 minutes. However, Bletch moved up a gear or two during extra time. A Luke Brennan Own goal and two from Lee Spencer registered for Wootton however Brennan got one in the right net as well, which accompanied goals from Jake Godfrey (2), Todd Parker-Hunt 1 (Pen), Richard Wells 1, Joe Goodgame and Josh Green putting the result beyond doubt.

Premier Division
FC Hollybush maintained their 3-point lead at the top of the division after a comfortable 4-0 win over hosts, Minster Lovell. Dean (2) and Craig Mays both found the back of the net with Dan Bishop getting the other.

Chipping Norton Town are still within striking distance of the leaders after their comprehensive 6-0 thrashing of Kirtlington. Nathan (2) and Dan Bott each got on the score sheet with Andrew McCabe, Andrew Helby and Reece Bayliss all adding to the rout.

Charlbury Town are in joint second courtesy of a 5-1 win over Hailey. Jake Smith netted for the hosts but goals from Mark Good (2), Mike Thompson, Warwick Thompkins and Craig McCallum settled the tie in favour of the visitors.

Goals from Joey Burgess (2) and Aston Leach gave Hanborough a 3-0 win over Spartan Rangers and retained the only 100% record in the Division.

Combe came back from their visit to Carterton Rangers empty handed after going down 7-0 to the hosts. Mykel Ryan Bagged a brace with Dan Hall, Carl Shirley, Ben Pearce and Jason Trinder getting the others.

Division One
It’s tight at the top of Division One where three sides are separated only by a 2-goal difference. Tower Hill edged above local rivals TH Stars on goal difference after their 6-1 win over Witney Royals. Matt Thompson was on the score sheet for Royals buy Tower Hill secured the tie with goals from Jamie Mariana (2), Brad Olive, Luke Bolley and Jack Scott.

Second place Tower Hill Stars edged a narrow 3-2 win over Bampton United for whom Nathan Beckett scored twice. However a brace from Darren Tasker and a goal from Ashley Overton saw TH to all three points.

Stonesfield moved into third after their 4-0 win over Milton. Raffy (2) and Carry rice found the back of the net with Tom Green adding.

The points were shared at FC Ascott where the hosts drew 3-3 with Chadlington. Tom Cairns, Rikki Smith and Kyle Drummond all scored for Ascott with Matt Chadwick (2) and Lee Woodward netting for the visitors.

Division Two
Division Two Leaders, Charlbury Town Reserves extended their winning streak to 5 games this season after a 4-1 defeat of Spartan Rangers Reserves. Damien Corbin scored a hat trick with Matthew Boyd getting the other. Callum Hampson scored the consolation for Spartan.

Kingham All Blacks moved into second, leapfrogging their opponents courtesy of a 4-2 win over Brize Norton. Rob Hook and Jake Farrugia scored for Brize but goals from Sam Phillpot (2), Dan Davies and Eddy Webb settled the tie in favour of the visitors.

Moreton Rangers handed out a right good thrashing to the visiting Hanborough Reserves. Paul Whitehouse put on a fast show, picking up a 4-goal haul wgile team mates, Sam Drew (2), Will Duberry, Jack Wise, Zack Ellis and Jack Robinson all got in on the act.

Ryan Lewis, Matt Smith and Warren Austin all found the back of the net during Aston Reserves 3-1 win over Hailey Reserves.

Division Three
An Andy Makepeace hat trick and a strike from Lee Marsden was just enough to see Siege FC to a 4-3 win over FC Hollybush Reserves. Siege remain in top spot as a result with Hollybush, for whom Josh Grant scored a hat trick, slipping to third.

Ducklington moved into second after a straight forward 5-0 win over Combe. George Townsend and Sam Doherty each scored a double with Ady Kew getting the odd goal.

Frank Webb is back amongst the goal scorers after a 4-0 win for Corinthians over Chipping Norton Town Reserves. Harry Puffitt scored the other goal for the visitors.

Louis Beaks scored the goal for the hosts as Milton Reserves went down 2-1 to Minster Lovell Reserves. Goals from Gary Mitchell and Craig Sallis settled the tie in favour of the visitors.

Witney Royals Reserves slipped to their second defeat in as many weeks after a 4-3 defeat to Bourton Rovers Reserves. Lee Mosson scored a hat trick for the hosts with Dan O’Driscoll getting the other. A Mikey Piper brace and a George Lambourne strike registering for Royals.

Division Four
Wootton Reserves moved into third after their 3-1 win over Siege FC Reserves. James Goodwin and Mark Mumford added to an own goal to give Wootton the win with Sam Thompson scoring the only goal for Siege.

Liam Felstead scored for Carterton Town B as they were defeated 2-1 by Stonesfield Reserves. A Jamie Gardner brace secured the points for the visitors.

Ethan Taylor and George Slatter each bagged a brace in Chadlington Reserves 4-3 win over Eynsham SSC Reserves. George Greening, Ben Partlett and Andy Stratford with Eynsham’s reply.

Adrian Williams scored a hat trick in Kingham All Blacks Reserves 5-2 win over Ascott Reserves. Darius Kaszprysk and Steve Thompson scored the others with Chris Blayney amogst the goals for Ascott.

Bampton United Reserves beat Spartan Rangers A by the same 5-2 score line with Jordan Ford (2), Oliver Partridge, Frazer Cooper and Steve Newman all getting on target. Scott Mason and Sam Quinn scoring the consolation goals for the hosts.
