Oxfordshire Charity Cup 17-18 - Semi Final
Once again, the freezing weather conditions ensured that only a handful of games would be played in the last round of games in 2017. Hanborough continue to fly the flag for the Witney & District in the Oxfordshire Charity Cup, securing their place in the final with a fine 5-1 win over Heyford Athletic. This sets up a mouth-watering final against local rivals and ex-W&D side Freeland who currently play in the Oxfordshire Senior League. Jack Morton grabbed a couple of goals with Dan Haggie, Craig Johnson and Kris Clark getting the others.

Fred Ford Cup 17-18 - Quarter Final
Aston 3 v 1 Tower Hill.
Aston were rewarded in their efforts to clear their pitch of snow and ice as they marched into the semi final of the Fred Ford Cup beating Tower Hill 3-1.

Both sides were missing a number of regulars and struggled to adapt to the tricky conditions early on, but it was Aston who were playing the better football and it was no surprise when Jamie Kennedy opened the scoring, firing low past Dan Cox, from the edge of the box. Cox then denied the same player with a full length finger tip save diverting his goal bound effort. But this was just delaying the inevitable, Ryan Colleton poked a ball in at the back post after Tower failed to clear Joe Edney's long throw. Cox then went off injured and was replaced in goal by Ed Smith. Almost his first touch was to pick the ball out of the net as Ryan Lewis had a free header from 8 yards from Colleton's corner to make it 3-0 at the interval.

Tower raised their game at the start of the second half, but they were never seriously troubling Danny Rayfield in the home goal a number of shots came in from distance, but all lacked power. They were however given a life line with 15 mins to go, when they were awarded a penalty for handball, but Jamie Harris's effort was poor going well wide of the post - Tower's 6th penalty miss of the season. James Scott then did pull a goal back a few minutes later, but it was too little too later and Aston survived the dismissal of Warren Austin for some choice language and comfortably hung on

Premier Division
Charlbury Town succumbed to only their second defeat of the season as they went down 4-3 to a visiting Minster Lovell. Warwick Tompkins, Craig McCallum and Mark Fitzgerald were all on target for the hosts but Minster hit back with goals from Sam Wright (2), Pete Barnicoat and Nick Rose. The defeat saw Charlbury miss the chance to move into second place.

Division Two
Division Two leaders Kingham All Blacks put on a sparkling performance in their final game of 2017, thrashing Spartan Rangers Reserves 7-1. They will go into new year, four points ahead of second place courtesy of goals from Dom Hemmings, Chris Mills and Ryan Barrass who all bagged a brace and Sam Philpott who scored the other. Matt Townsend scored the lone reply for Spartan.

Moreton Rangers are still up there in the chasing pack after their 3-1 away win over Witney Wanderers. The hosts scored through Josh Walkington but Moreton hit back with goals from Ben Burdoch, Mark Boydell and Javan Nurse.

Bletchington set themselves up nicely for a promotion push in 2018 after beating Bourton Rovers 3-2. The hosts scored through Todd Parker-Hunt, Richard Wells and Joe Goodgame leaving them the chance to move into second place, if they take maximum points from their two games in hand. Lee Mosson and Andrew Herbert scored for Bourton.

Division Three
FC Mills will end the year in the drop zone despite a good performance against second place, FC Hollybush. James Rogers, Ben Powell and Cody Davies scored for the hosts in the 7-3 defeat, but Hollybush were too strong. A hat trick for Steve Holder was the highlight for the Bush with Chris Hirons (2), Richard Williams and Danny Brearley all adding to the tally.

Division Four
Carterton Town B moved into second place courtesy of their 4-1 victory over Bampton United Reserves. Dave Wanless and Danny Haining each scored doubles giving the hosts the lead as Conor O'Shea pulled one back for Bampton.
