S PORTING RIVALS COME TOGETHER IN MEMORIAL GAME
Football teams FC Mills and Witney Royals from the Witney & District League put aside their
sporting rivalries to play a fund-raising match on 6th April 2019 in memory of Amy Lloyd (nee
Jones).
Amy sadly lost her battle with cancer in January at the age of 31.
Before the match a minute’s applause was held in Amy’s honour.
Present and playing in the game was Amy’s husband Kevin Lloyd who is a long serving FC
Mills player and who captained the team on the day. The match was played in good spirit
and was watched by a strong crowd. FC Mills won the game 3-1, but the result was
secondary to the occasion.
£650 was donated in total from the players, supporters and the League. Food and facilities
were provided by West Witney Sports & Social Club and Witney Town Council.
All proceeds were donated to Sobell House who provided excellent care and support to
Amy.
Kevin and Amy’s family would like to thank everyone who participated and donated
